Papinho's sexual assault appeal was dismissed and he was sentenced to 9 years in prison

According to a number of Brazilian media, former Brazilian star Robinho's appeal for sexual assault was rejected by the Supreme Court of Rome, and he will be sentenced to 9 years in prison.

Robinho was convicted in 2017 after he was suspected of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old Albanian girl in a nightclub in Milan with five other fellow Brazilians in 2013. In this regard, Robinho denied it and pointed out that both sides were voluntary. Affected by this incident, Robinho, who had just joined Santos at the time, was immediately terminated.

In 2020, Robinho's appeal was dismissed. On Wednesday, Rome's Supreme Court upheld the previous ruling again, sentencing the 37-year-old man to nine years in prison.

Robinho is currently in Brazil, but the Italian side could ask him to serve his sentence in a Brazilian prison. However, it is almost impossible for him to serve his sentence in Brazil, and if he goes abroad and reaches a country with an extradition treaty with Italy, Robinho will be arrested immediately.

Since there is no extradition treaty between Italy and Brazil, the Italian side needs to issue an international arrest to the Brazilian authorities to arrest Robinho.

In his playing career, Robinho has played for Real Madrid, Manchester City, Milan and many other giants, and has also briefly joined the Guangzhou team in the Chinese Super League.
