Birds in urban lakes, we are easy to meet, so what kind of waves will the birds on the Yangtze River and the beaches of the continent fly?
Since 2019, the Wuhan Bird Watching Association has carried out a synchronous survey of winter bird diversity in the Yangtze River Beach near Wuhan for three consecutive years, and the survey was carried out in mid-December this year, and the results were mixed: the protected Beach, the flock of birds increased from thousands to tens of thousands, such as the Hannan Wuhu Wetland; the Zhou Beach with many human interferences, such as RenminZhou in Huarong Town, Ezhou, was still a bird paradise last year, and this year it was empty.
Hi: The Chinese Autumn Sand Duck has been recorded 2 times in Han
In winter, on the Yangtze River Tianxingzhou, the cold wind made people shiver, and the members of the Wuhan Bird Watching Association, Ming Liang, and four other people trembled excitedly, because "3 Chinese autumn sand ducks were harvested." ”
Wuhan Bird Watching Association members bright introduction, that day they divided the head of the continent, the middle of the continent and the tail of the three-line investigation, first went to the head of the continent to visit the black stork, and then met two peregrine falcons in the air competition, when the investigation in the middle of the continent, close to the waterway of the north of the river, encountered three leisurely Chinese autumn sand ducks, although the distance is very far, but through the single barrel can clearly see their hair fluttering against the wind, the exquisite fish scale pattern on the body, a serious slightly cool look, identified, is the Chinese autumn sand duck.

Chinese Autumn Sand Ducks hanging out near Tianxingzhou
"This is the first time that the Chinese Autumn Sand Duck has been found to come to Tianxingzhou, and it has only been recorded once in Wuhan before, that is, in November 2014, the Chinese Autumn Sand Duck appeared in the Huangsi River near Shenhu Lake." Yan Jun, president of the Wuhan Bird Watching Association, introduced that the Chinese autumn sand duck is a national first-level protected animal, but also an endangered species, only distributed in China and Russia, the number in China is only more than 5,000, and it has high environmental requirements, especially high water quality requirements, generally living in mountain streams, they only eat fish, can have 3 appear in Wuhan Tianxingzhou, it is not easy, indicating that the Yangtze River fishing ban effect is good. It is a dry period, the river where it is located is not a waterway, and there is no human activity to disturb it, which is very good.
Will they overwinter in Wuhan? "Yes." Yan Jun said he observed them coming in November and saw them last week, and they happened to be neighbors with the black storks.
Hannan Wu Lake, this year's bird condition is particularly gratifying. "A total of 14,084 birds of 46 species were observed, including more than 10,000 geese." Yan Jun introduced that this is the result of returning fish to the lake, when I went to investigate in 2017, there were only thousands of birds and few geese; in addition, in the 40th Gate River Beach in Hannan, two red-breasted autumn sand ducks added a touch of red to the winter scenery of Xiaose, and red-breasted autumn sand ducks are rare in Wuhan.

It is worth mentioning that the Oriental White Stork, a national first-class protected animal, generally meets it in Wuhan, and is a lone traveler, "This time in Hannan Wu Lake, I met 7 oriental white storks in groups." Worry: The number of birds in Renmin Continent plummeted by 4/5
"I was particularly excited to go to Ezhou People's Continent to investigate the bird situation, but I was particularly disappointed." Wang Haifang, a member of the Wuhan Bird Watching Association, told reporters that last year there were thousands of geese and ducks squatting on the beach, densely packed, particularly shocking, and there were black storks, this year to the beach, it was empty, only starlings, magpies, birds and other common forest birds that are not afraid of people, water birds only a few spot-billed ducks and short-billed bean geese passed through the air.

Monitoring data from the Wuhan Bird Watching Association shows that there are 5993 birds from 63 species in Renminzhou in 2020, and only 1227 birds from 33 species in Renminzhou this year.
In one year, the bird species has halved, and the number of birds has plummeted by 4/5, why is this happening?
Wang Haifang said that the "Renmin Zhou Net Red Beach" signboard inserted on the beach explains everything, the huge sandbar is also full of signs that read "self-driving travel is more fun", and under the tent is a sign for the rental of an at-large beach car, because it is rainy when it is cloudy and rainy, there is no one.
Discussion: Letting go and returning to nature is the best protection
This year, the number of survey areas increased to 7, from upstream to downstream, namely Hannan Wuhu Wetland, Hannan Sicheng ZhaJiangtan, Tianxingzhou, Jiangbei Zhujiahekou, Wuhuidi River Beach, Tuanfeng Luohuozhou, Ezhou Huarong Renminzhou.
"Whether the Yangtze River Beach is well protected or not, birds have the most say." Yan Jun said that the oriental white stork, the Chinese autumn sand duck and the red-breasted autumn sand duck, which feed on fish, are increasing in and around Wuhan, which is the result of the ban on fishing in the Yangtze River, which also shows that the water quality of the Yangtze River has become better; and the people's continent, which was once a paradise for birds, has seen a sharp decline in bird populations this year, mainly caused by human activity interference.

From 2019 to 2021, the number of bird species in Tianxingzhou was 48 species, 42 species and 50 species, respectively. "The number of bird species is growing, and with a paper ban, human activities have been greatly reduced, and the ecology of Tianxingzhou will definitely become better and better." According to Yan Jun, on the 20th, the Hongshan District People's Government issued a notice prohibiting any business activities in the Tianxingzhou beach, prohibiting motor vehicles from carrying out cross-country sports and other activities in the Tianxingzhou beach, not allowing large-scale gathering activities to be held in Tianxingzhou without application for approval, and not allowing activities with potential safety hazards such as wild camping, cooking, barbecue, and swimming in Tianxingzhou.
"All beaches should learn from Tianxingzhou." Yan Jun said that the ecological environment of the Yangtze River Beach is very fragile, so the best protection is for human beings to let go and let it go to the natural rise of the river.
