Appreciation of ancient poems by herons

Herons

[Tang Dynasty] Du Mu

Snow-clad snow-haired green jade mouth, group fishing children in the shadow of the stream.

Flying far away to the Bishan Mountains, a tree of pear blossoms fell in the evening wind.

About the Author:

Du Mu (803 – c. 852 CE), courtesy name Muzhi, was a Han Chinese poet from Jingzhao Wannian (present-day Xi'an, Shaanxi), and a poet of the Tang Dynasty. Du Mu was called "Xiao Du" to distinguish him from Du Fu. Together with Li Shangyin, he was called "Little Li Du". Because he lived in Fanchuan Villa in Chang'an in his later years, he was later called "Du Fanchuan" and wrote "Fan Chuan Anthology".

note:

Herons, dressed in snow-white clothes, with snow-white hair and jade-like mouths, fish in flocks in streams, their beautiful bodies reflected in the clear water.

Suddenly, they flew up in fright, backed by the turquoise mountain color, and flew into the distance, and the white figure was like a pear blossom fluttering in the evening wind.

Appreciation:

"Snow-clad snow-haired green jade mouth, group fishing in the shadows of the creek." The first two sentences are not special praises, but popular and simple realism, but it is such a pen, a group of "snow-clad boys" white and beautiful images, the habit and wit of the sunset, hidden in the shadows of the stream, waiting to catch fish and shrimp, are all depicted, and at the same time, the poet's fascination is also contained in it. The white feathers of the egret are very beautiful, so it has the reputation of "snowcoat" and "snowcoat". The poet is attracted by this feature of the egret, so from here he cuts to express the spirit of the egret and express his fascination. The conjunction of the two "snow" characters highlights the "shape" of the egret, and its "god" has not yet appeared, and the poet cleverly places it in the scene of the flying away and carefully depicted, with the "bishan" support, with the metaphor of "pear blossom", the brushstrokes are ethereal, and the spirit of the egret is revealed.

The third and fourth sentences: "Flying far away from the Bishan Mountain, a tree of pear blossoms falling in the evening wind." A "surprise" word pushed the scene in front of him into the distance, and the "bishan mountain" reflected the distant egrets, and this group of flying egrets decorated the turquoise distant mountains. The mountains are white and the sunset is fading, which is a beautiful picture. It's a mixture of scenes and nature. However, the poet was not satisfied with this, and he then spread the wings of imagination, as if secretly asking himself: "What does the dot egret that reflects the bishan mountains in the distance look like?" Oh, like the beautiful sight of snow-white pear blossoms falling in the quiet and gentle evening breeze!

The first two sentences of the poem write that the heron fishes in the stream, plain and plain, seemingly tasteless, in fact, for the shock behind to create momentum. "A tree" undertakes "group hunting", "pear blossom" should be "snow" word, reading clear and natural, without a sense of fabrication. This poem is unique among many Aria poems, and its last two sentences can also be said to be famous sentences in the Poem of The Heron. Some famous sayings of later generations, such as Gu Ying's "White birds fly at the end of the trees, and the green mountains are in the snowflakes" ("Bo Chui Hongqiao Kou zhan"), and Zheng Banqiao's "Suddenly the herons are startled, a trace of green snow goes up to the western mountains" ("Forty Bamboo Branches in Weixian County" in the Yuan Dynasty, are likely to be created under the influence of Du Mu's poems.
