At the end of the 16th century, the famous playwright Shakespeare wrote the love legend of "Romeo and Juliet", which has been handed down to this day. In 1998, the French composer Jayë piesgovik brought this legendary work to the stage of musical theatre. Since its premiere in France in 2001, the musical Romeo and Juliet has toured more than 40 countries and has been viewed by more than 12 million people worldwide, and has been praised by the European media as "the greatest pop musical of the 21st century". The hits "Eros" and "King of the World" once dominated the French pop charts for 17 weeks. The play has also become a shining pearl in the hall of French musicals with the same name as "Notre Dame de Paris".

The Chinese version of the musical Romeo and Juliet is the first officially licensed Chinese version of the play in 21 years. The original choreographer and director Carl Portal, who directs and choreographs the Chinese, is full of anticipation and confidence in the tour of this classic in China: "I believe that every era and every country has brave young people like Romeo and Juliet, who want to break through the prison of the world and pursue their dreams. The wonderful interpretation of the Chinese actor will make every audience empathize, and this work will be reborn like a phoenix. ”

Liu Zhuo, who has served as the music director of "Sister Riding the Wind and Waves 2", "The Voice of China" and "The Voice of Dreams", personally wrote the musical "Romeo and Juliet" Chinese version of the music adaptation, and the translation team consisted of Liang Mang, Goth and Shang Lian. The cast brings together many powerful talents on the domestic musical theater stage, and four groups of "LuoJu" card division cross-matching professional dancers will perform 10 consecutive performances from December 24, 2021 to January 2, 2022, accompanying the Beijing audience to celebrate the New Year in the song of love.
