Charles Leclerc is still struggling to find a better balance between Qualifying and Regular Season Ferrari.

Leclerc: I need to find a balance between qualifying and regular

Leclerc and carlos Sainz, a newcomer to the 2021 season, helped Ferrari pick up a bit this season, returning to P3 in the constructors' standings after the worst result in four years (P6). Both drivers have also been very consistent in their respective seasons, but Leclerc has identified an area of improvement he hopes to address in 2022.

Leclerc said: "There is still a lot of work to be done. Maybe I haven't found a balance from qualifying to regular and sometimes I sacrifice more qualifying to get better in the main race, which we've seen several times this season. But it's a balance and I'm trying to strike the perfect balance between qualifying and regular. ”

While Leclerc is known for being self-critical, he stressed that he made a lot of progress in another area for the 2021 season.

He said: "Overall, I have improved a lot in the management of the main game. I think from the beginning of 2020 I started saying that this is one of my weaknesses, especially in 2019, when I had a lot of good qualifying, but I struggled even more in the main race. So I put a lot of work into 2020 and I got better results, and I think in the 2021 season, that's actually one of my strengths. ”

Leclerc and Sainz will join forces again in the 2022 season, with team leader Mattia Binotto having designated a mid-February release date for the 2022 car.
