Newcastle introduced reinforcements in the winter window, interested arsenal, Everton, Lyon and other team centre-backs

The Premier League club Newcastle intend to sign at least one centre-back in the winter transfer window.

Ligue 1 Lyon centre-back Jason Denayer was one of Newcastle's signing targets.

Jason Denayer is a Belgian player aged 26. His contract at Lyon, entering the final stages, is therefore possible for Lyon to sell players in the winter window.

In the long run, Newcastle has big visions for the future, and they have the conditions to achieve them – adequate funding.

The January transfer window was supposed to be a time for Newcastle to show off their strength. However, being in 19th place in the Premier League put Newcastle's reinforcements in an awkward position. Poor rankings make it difficult to convince players from other teams to join.

Newcastle hopes to bring in a right-back and at least one centre-back in the winter window, helping them to improve their position in the second half of the schedule and land to a safe position in the league.

On Newcastle's signing list, there are a lot of potential targets. Arsenal's loan at Stuttgart in the Bundesliga centre-back Mavropanos is one of the targets, but the player's transfer involves multiple clubs, so closing a deal would be complicated.

Everton player Mason Holgate was also a target for Newcastle' signings. Still, the Toffee is unlikely to sell players midway through the season. However, if Newcastle are willing to offer huge offers, Everton's sale of players is not ruled out.

Compared to the above players, Lyon's Jason de Nayer is a useful option for Newcastle. The experience and strength of this player can improve the level of Defense at Newcastle.

In this case, it remains to be seen how much the Lyon team will ask for a transfer fee.
