Born into a wealthy family, he was accused of fleeing back to his hometown when he was studying in Whampoa, and was later awarded the title of major general

There was a time in history when it was believed that people from rich families must be as revolutionary as those who came from poor backgrounds. He was born into a rich second-generation family in Changshu, Suzhou, but his revolutionary nature is extremely firm, and he will tell you his story next.

Born into a wealthy family, he was accused of fleeing back to his hometown when he was studying in Whampoa, and was later awarded the title of major general

His name was Zhou Wenzai, and he was born in 1906 in a scholarly family in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, to a wealthy family. Although he was the son of a wealthy family, he had anti-feudal, anti-warlord and anti-imperialist patriotic ideas and consciousness.

Let's say that when he was studying at the Taicang County No. 4 Middle School, a certain school asked to write in a literary style, but Zhou Wenzai handed in the papers in vernacular; another time, the teacher produced an essay entitled "Asking for Sun Wenxuan", and Zhou Wenzai actually handed in an essay denouncing the warlord Duan Qirui, which made the teacher half dead. In 1925, when the "May Thirtieth" Movement broke out in Shanghai, Zhou Wen, who had just attended the Attached High School of Shanghai University, organized and led his classmates to the streets in indignation to distribute leaflets to expose the truth about the shooting of gu Zhenghong martyrs and show solidarity with the arrested college students, showing his youthful and fearless spirit of resistance, and he also became the only high school student arrested in the attached middle school of Shanghai University.

It is also because of Zhou Wenzai's outstanding performance in the anti-imperialist and anti-feudal "May Thirtieth" Movement that in December 1925, at the age of 19, he joined our party, engaged in secret party work in Shanghai, Changshu and other places, and participated in the party building work in Changshu.

With the advent of the Northern Expedition, Zhou Wen, who had been arrested many times during the revolutionary journey, decided to go to Guangzhou to apply for the Whampoa Military Academy, determined to use military means to resist the rule of the warlords. He was admitted to the 5th phase of the Whampoa Military Academy, but when he reported to Whampoa, he was rated as the 6th issue because the 5 issues had been completed.

After entering the Whampoa Military Academy, Zhou Wen did not give up doing party work except for intense study. In 1927, the "April 12" counter-revolutionary coup launched by the president, guangzhou also began the "clean party" action.

One day, a Platoon Commander from Hunan from the Military Academy talked to him and sternly rebuked him: Why didn't you shout anti-"communist" slogans during the parade and the late roll call? Then he approached Zhou Wenzai and whispered in his ear, Someone denounced you, saying that you are a communist!

After Zhou Wen heard the platoon leader's hint to him, he knew that he was already in danger, and after he returned to the company, he immediately connected with several classmates with the same concept as himself, quietly left the barracks, changed into plain clothes and fled back to Changshu.

So, what kind of life did Zhou Wen, who fled back to his hometown, go through later and become a major general of the Republic?

As mentioned earlier, Zhou Wen participated in the party building work in Changshu, and after returning to Changshu, he immediately got in touch with the organization. In June 1927, Zeng Peihong (Li Qiang), the founder of the first radio station of our Party and the minister of foreign trade after the founding of New China, sent a message from the people in Wuhan asking Zhou Wen to go to Wuhan and organize him to be assigned to the 2nd Battalion 1st Company of the 20th Army Teaching Regiment of He Laozong as an instructor, so he was very fortunate to participate in the famous Nanchang Uprising.

After participating in the Nanchang uprising, Zhou Wenzai later returned to his hometown and worked secretly in Changshu, Shanghai and other places. During this period, he was arrested by the Kuomintang reactionaries and sent to prison, where he sat in a cell for more than a year. This is also his 5th time in prison, and it is already the period of the War of Resistance Against Japan.

After that, Zhou Wen was dispatched by the party to form an anti-Japanese armed force in Changshu to carry out the anti-Japanese armed struggle behind enemy lines.

He successively served as the director of the political office of the "Sixth Echelon Regiment" of the anti-Japanese guerrilla armed forces, the deputy detachment leader of the "Jiangkang" independent 3rd detachment, the instructor of the 3rd Battalion of the 1st Regiment of the "Jiangkang" Regiment, the director of the Political Office of the 7th Regiment of the New Fourth Army Advancing Column, the director of the Quartermaster Department of the 1st Column of the Advance, the political commissar of the Supply Department of the 1st Brigade of the 1st Division of the New Fourth Army, the director of the Taxation Administration Bureau of the Third Special District of Central Jiangsu, the political commissar of the Independent Regiment of Taixing County in Central Jiangsu, the secretary of the Party Committee of Taixing County, the director of the Political Department of the Second Sub-district of Central Jiangsu, the director of the Organization Department of the Political Department of the Central Soviet Military Region, and the deputy director of the Political Department of the 7th Column of Central China. He is the director of the Organization Department of the Political Department of the Northern Jiangsu Corps, and the director of the Organization Department of the Political Department of the 10th Corps.

For Zhou Wenzai, there are articles saying that he is the prototype of Zhou Wen (Zhou Weiguo), the protagonist of the TV series "Snow Leopard", in the author's opinion, in addition to his background is somewhat similar, there is no similarity.
