The basic exhibition of Shaanxi History Museum" "Shaanxi Ancient Civilization" was officially opened in March 2008, taking the historical process as the clue and selecting typical cultural relics of various eras for combined display to reveal the development of ancient social civilization in Shaanxi. The exhibition hall covers an area of 4600 square meters, a total of three exhibition rooms, divided into seven parts (prehistory, Zhou, Qin, Han, Wei and Jin Southern and Northern Dynasties, Sui Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing, Ming and Qing), the selection of more than 2,000 precious cultural relics include: reflecting the ancient ancestors' life scenes and artistic pursuits of rich and colorful pottery vessels, reflecting the rise and prosperity of the Zhou people bronze, reflecting the momentum of the Qin sweeping six unified world momentum of bronze swords, warp machines, soldiers and horses, as well as steel building components showing the spirit of the rise of the Qin and Han dynasties, large-scale wadang, There are also exquisite Tang Dynasty gold and silverware and Tang Sancai that reflect the prosperity of the feudal world, accompanied by auxiliary exhibits such as site models, charts, photos and so on. It systematically presents the ancient history of the Shaanxi region from 1.15 million years ago to 1840.

As a comprehensive historical museum, the display of Shaanxi History Museum is mainly divided into three parts: basic exhibition, special exhibition and temporary exhibition. The basic exhibition is the exhibition of ancient history of Shaanxi. It divides the ancient history of Shaanxi into seven parts: prehistory, Zhou, Qin, Han, Wei and Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, Sui and Tang Dynasties, Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing, and Qing dynasties, and systematically shows the development process of Shaanxi from the Lantian people in the early Paleolithic Age to the Opium War for more than one million years with about 2,000 cultural relics.

The phoenix-style lifting beam symbolizes the lid of the pot with a flower base. At the junction of the lid and the pot, the nursing mother and child lion are piled up, and the female lion opens her mouth to flow. The spherical belly of the pot is engraved with tangled peonies. There is a plum-shaped water injection hole in the center of the bottom, and the shape is very clever, which is an outstanding treasure of Yao kiln porcelain.

This jade cow represents the superb level of the Han Dynasty circular carving process, and the craftsmen have grasped the dynamic characteristics of the lying cow, using smooth and concise lines to express the dynamics of the limbs, and there is movement in the still.

This agate cup is carved from a rare piece of multicolored silk agate, the shape is realistic and vivid, and the animal's mouth is inlaid with gold, which plays the role of finishing touch, in fact, this is the stopper of the wine glass, remove the stopper, and the wine can flow out from here. The origin of this agate cup is still controversial in the academic community, but its shape is a Western wine utensil called "Laitong" has become the consensus of experts and scholars. "Laitong" is a transliteration of the Greek word, which means to flow out, and is mostly made into animal shapes. Generally there is a hole in the bottom of the wine glass, the liquid can flow out of the hole, the function is like a funnel, used to inject the god wine, at that time people believed that using it to inject wine can prevent poisoning, holding up the "laitong" to drink the wine is a sign of tribute to the gods, so it is also often used in ceremonial and sacrificial activities.
