The "Foshan History and Culture Series" (the sixth series) and the "Series" in Both Chinese and English (the second series) were recently published by the Guangdong People's Publishing House and the Guangzhou Publishing House. On the morning of December 24, the Propaganda Department of the Foshan Municipal Party Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Editorial Committee of the Foshan History and Culture Series held the launch ceremony of the series in the Municipal Press Conference Hall. According to reports, the "Foshan History and Culture Series" published for six consecutive years has become an important business card of Foshan City and Guangfu culture, and plays an important and far-reaching role in giving play to the lingnan Guangfu culture to nourish the temperament of the citizens, shape the city style, comprehensively enhance the reputation and influence of Foshan's cultural city, and inherit the cultural context of Lingnan Guangfu.

Foshan is the first of the "four famous towns" in ancient China, the traditional culture is broad and profound, it is a national historical and cultural city, and the famous Shanxi Qiao Mountain is called "the beacon of pearl river civilization" by archaeologists. Since the Tang and Song dynasties, the Pearl River Delta centered on the South China Sea has risen rapidly and become the political, economic and cultural center of Lingnan, and various types of literature have emerged and accumulated in large quantities in the Foshan area.
"Foshan History and Culture Series" is a long-term cultural project launched in March 2016 in Foshan, under the leadership of the Propaganda Department of foshan Municipal Party Committee, organizing cultural, social science, media and other units to form a series of editorial committees. The Editorial Board has set up an academic committee and an editorial department, and Foshan Media Group and Foshan Daily have set up a Foshan Historical and Cultural Research Center to be responsible for specific compilation and publication work. Since the first series was published in 2016, the series has been published continuously at a rate of 10 types (volumes) per year, and has now published six consecutive series of 60 titles. Starting in 2020, we will compile and publish Chinese and English editions with lingnan culture as the theme at two paces per year, expanding Foshan's popularity in the international community.
According to the plan, the Foshan History and Culture Series will complete the compilation and publication of 120 kinds (volumes) by 2027. The compilation of the seventh series of the 2022 Foshan History and Culture Series was launched in September this year and is expected to meet readers in the fourth quarter of next year.
