After four years of construction, on December 21, the Longlang Expressway was officially opened to traffic. The Longlang Expressway starts from Longtang Town, Lianyuan City, and ends in Langtang Town, Xinhua County, and is the western extension of the former Changzhi Expressway, as well as the horizontal connection line between the Erguang Expressway and the Hubei Expressway. After the opening of the traffic, Changsha City reaches Huaihua City via Longlang Expressway, which can save 70 kilometers of driving mileage compared with traditional routes.
