China Economic Network Beijing, December 21, yesterday, the Beijing Municipal Internet Information Office WeChat public account released a message that recently, the State Internet Information Office instructed the Beijing Municipal Internet Information Office to interview the person in charge of Zhihu Network in accordance with the law, in view of the fact that Zhihu Network has repeatedly appeared in the information prohibited by laws and regulations from publishing or transmitting, in accordance with the "Cybersecurity Law of the People's Republic of China", ordered it to immediately rectify and seriously deal with the relevant responsible persons. The Beijing Municipal Internet Information Office filed a case for administrative punishment for Zhihu.com's illegal conduct.

The person in charge of Zhihu Network said that it will deeply learn lessons, strictly implement various rectification requirements, and suspend relevant functions during the rectification period.

The relevant responsible person of the Beijing Municipal Internet Information Office stressed that website platforms shall earnestly perform their main responsibilities, improve the network information security management system, and must not provide a dissemination platform for information that violates laws and regulations. The Beijing Municipal Internet Information Office will further urge relevant website platforms to strengthen internal management, carry out services in accordance with laws and regulations, and maintain a clear cyberspace.
