At that time, he was a lieutenant general in the Kuomintang, and he could still be said to be a high-powered person, but because he had already seen through the essence of the Kuomintang, the corruption and incompetence of the Nationalist government deeply resented him. At that time, he had realized that only the Chinese Communist Party could truly save the country, and in 1948 he secretly joined the Kuomintang in Hong Kong and was willing to accept the task of lurking in Taiwan.
So in 1949, he came to Taiwan and began underground work, but only a year later, he died because of the exposure of his identity, so why did he expose his true identity? The reason for all this lies in his font.
On January 29, 1950, Tsai Hsiao-qian, a senior officer on Taiwan's hidden front, was arrested, and after he was arrested, he had been looking for an opportunity to escape, but only three months later he was arrested again, this time after being arrested, he could not withstand the threats and inducements of the enemy, and finally surrendered and defected. After the enemy agent reported the handwritten intelligence retrieved from Wu Shi's house, he made a final confirmation with the senior general's font that the font was written by Chen Baocang, and Chen Baocang was arrested after this, and on June 10, 1950, he died heroically.
After the identities of Wu Shi, Chen Baocang and others were exposed, after they were killed, New China gave them their due names, and they were also posthumously recognized as revolutionary martyrs, and later through secret channels, the ashes of Chen Baocang's people were also transported back to the mainland, and a grand memorial service was held to commemorate these heroes.
