The 2021 World Short Course Swimming Championships are taking place in Abu Dhabi, UAE. During the competition, FINA also held a special water sports festival, which included marathon swimming, diving exhibition races and high-platform diving qualifications at the 2022 Swimming World Championships.
From December 19 to 20, the diving team exhibition competition was held, and the Chinese team was led by Tokyo Olympic champions Quan Hongchan and Wang Han, and the members also included male athletes Lian Junjie and Li Zheng.
The diving exhibition competition is located on the seashore of Yas Island, sharing the same "diving rack" as the high platform diving competition, and the contestants jokingly call it "diving into the sea". A total of ten teams participated in the diving team exhibition competition, in addition to the Chinese team, there were also Russia, Australia, the United States, Brazil, the United Kingdom and so on. The competition is divided into two days, with the men's and women's three-meter board competition on the 19th and the men's and women's ten-meter platform competition on the 20th.
In the three-meter board competition, Wang Han's 205B scored 73.50 points; Lian Junjie's 307C made a mistake and only scored 45.50 points; Wang Han/Li Zheng's 405B scored 63.00 points. After the first day of the match, the Chinese team temporarily ranked second.
The next day's 10-meter platform competition, the young player Quan Hongchan staged the "splash disappearance technique", and 107B scored a high score of 79.50, helping the Chinese team to rise to the first place at one point. But then Lian Junjie's 626C made a mistake and only scored 36.30 points; Li Zheng/Quan Hongchan's 5253B scored 86.40 points.
In the end, the total score of the Chinese team was 384.20 points, ranking bronze. Brazil won the gold medal with 416.35 points, leading China by 32.15 points. The British team won the silver medal with 385.45 points.
Australia, Russia, Italy, Egypt, Mexico, Ukraine and the United States ranked fourth to tenth.
