In terms of design, the new car is almost identical in design with the current model, based on the VISION COUPE concept car design concept, with the family's iconic grille and headlight shape. The compact body with a large trapezoidal front grille and a sharp LED headlight set give the new car a good sense of sport. In addition, the new car is still available in two body styles, soft top convertible and hard top convertible, and some new body colors and soft top convertible colors are available.
In terms of interior, Mazda's new MX-5 is equipped with a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, and is equipped with a classic three-gun barrel mechanical pointer instrument panel, a floating LCD central control screen above the center console, and a traditional mechanical gear shift mechanism and a mechanical handbrake below. In addition, for the first time, the new car incorporates the Platinum Quartz Metallic body coating and offers a new Terracotta Nappa leather interior kit.
It is worth mentioning that the new Mazda MX-5 applies a new technology called KPC, which allows the vehicle to have a smoother body posture in different situations, thereby improving the stability of the vehicle during driving.
In addition, the new 990S version of the model refers to a lightweight model with a vehicle weight control below 990 kg, which will be equipped with a 16-inch RAYS forged rim, each rim can reduce the weight of about 800 grams, and the weight of four will be reduced by a total of 3.2 kg. The model is also equipped with Brembo ventilated discs, Brembo front four-piston calipers, and optimized lifts for suspension, springs, electric power steering and engine.
In terms of power, the new Mazda MX-5 is still equipped with two naturally aspirated engines of 1.5 liters and 2.0 liters, of which the 2.0 liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine has a maximum power of 181 horsepower. On the drivetrain, the new car only offers a six-speed manual transmission on the Sport and Club models, while the top-mounted Grand Touring model can only choose the automatic transmission.
