Ren Daqing, born in Yangzhou in 1970, graduated from Nanjing Academy of the Arts majoring in Chinese painting, studied Chinese painting under Professor Zhou Jiyin, and received a doctorate in fine arts in 2008. Vice Chairman of Nanjing Young Artists Association, Honorary President of Nanjing Yungu Calligraphy and Painting Institute, Vice President of Nanjing Presidential Palace Calligraphy and Painting Institute, Vice President of Nanjing Chongde Calligraphy and Painting Institute, and teaches at Nanjing Art Institute.
In 2009, he held a solo exhibition in Nanjing, and participated in more than 30 important exhibitions such as the National Xu Beihong Prize Chinese Painting Exhibition, the Korea-China International Art Exchange Exhibition, and the 26th Asian International Art Exhibition. He has published many papers in core journals such as Art Observation and Fine Arts and Design, and has authored "Youmu Chenghuai- A Collection of Famous Chinese Painters in Jiangsu Dynasty". There are not many objects that make up his landscape and water, that is, mountains, water, trees, smoke, rain, moons, pavilions, boats, birds, old people with wide robes and large sleeves, etc., and among these kinds of objects, the one that appears most frequently is the boat, although there is almost no one on the boat, but it is an important carrier for the author to lead to the other shore; the second is the old man on the edge of the abyss, the old man sits facing the water, as if contemplating and staring, and his gaze is undoubtedly the beautiful other shore.
Even paintings with no water, no boats and no people can realize from the "artistic interval" of the misty mountains and trees, the remoteness or the intention to pull the landscape and the viewer a certain distance, and realize that what he strives to make us see is a kind of beauty on the other side. In his paintings, there are no restless waves of mind, no stirring moonlight, no frightened fish, no wave of noise that gives rise to ten thousand waves, and some are just the clarity and calmness of the mind, the freedom of Zen Buddhism.
