In 1933, Chiang Kai-shek's center of gravity was still "encircling and suppressing" the Red Army! But Chengde fell. Zhang Zizhong was sent to lead the Twenty-ninth Army to the front to resist the Japanese army. After seven days of fierce fighting in the first stage, the Japanese army did not have the advantage! Change the main direction of attack with it! Zhang Zizhong's troops changed with the changes of the Japanese army, and the Japanese army was defeated in the second stage! The second phase of the campaign also became a rare victory in the early stage of the War of Resistance! In 1938, Zhang Zizhong led his troops to participate in the Battle of Linyi, fought fiercely with the enemy for seven days and seven nights, and finally defeated the enemy army, ensuring the great victory of Taierzhuang! Zhang Zizhong led the troops to kill the enemy heroically all the way and stubbornly resisted! In order to complete the task of encircling and annihilating the Japanese army, Zhang Zizhong led his troops deep into the rear of the enemy army, but was ambushed by the enemy army. The casualties of the troops led by Zhang Zizhong soared until the whole army was finally destroyed, and Zhang Zizhong also sacrificed his life for the country to become the first person to die for the commander-in-chief of the group army in the War of Resistance Against Japan. Zhang Zizhong is not a person who falls easily! As early as 1923, when Zhang Zizhong took off his cotton jacket and ran on a snowy day, he could already see that he was a tough warrior!
Zhang Zizhong was assassinated by a Japanese soldier named Tenggang, who had already been shot in the head, but he insisted that he did not fall! It wasn't until he was assassinated that Zhang Zizhong stopped fighting! At that time, the Japanese army did not know that it was Zhang Zizhong who assassinated him, so he was buried in a hasty way! However, after the Japanese discovered Zhang Zizhong's body, the entire Japanese army saluted Zhang Zizhong and broadcast on the radio of the same day the most pious and reverential silent prayer for Zhang Zizhong. Even when the death squads retrieved Zhang Zizhong's body and transported it to the rear, the Japanese army stopped bombing by aircraft so as not to destroy Zhang Zizhong's body! After examination, it was found that Zhang Zizhong had eight wounds, two wounds caused by shells alone, one bayonet wound, and the rest were all gunshot wounds!
