Lightweight new four-time champion George Camposos Jr. revealed the inspiration of numerous boxing champions such as legends Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali to help him reach the top.
Australian Cambossos shocked the world by beating Lopez to capture four lightweight gold belts. He revealed how he grew up from a bullied child to become a world boxer.
In an interview with The Sun, Campos explained: "I was bullied as a child. When I was a kid, I was overweight and I was the first to last in everything I did, but I always tried my best to do everything, I was bullied many times in school, and I just focused on what I wanted to achieve. ”
At the age of 13, Campos told his father Jim that one day he would become a champion, and on November 27, this became a reality. He now has the opportunity to continue to be the undisputed king of lightweight.
Campos is married to Bec Pereira and has three children. He added: "I have a dream that once I start boxing I will be a world champion, I have never lost the momentum of that dream, I have a tunnel-like desire. I worked hard and sacrificed a lot, and my discipline was unparalleled. I focused on this desire, never stopped trusting myself, and it became a reality and happened. ”
"I've known since I was a kid that you need to sacrifice, dedicate yourself to the sport, and train hard every day to achieve your dreams. Any young child, as long as you have your own core beliefs, dedication, discipline, and sacrifice, you can do whatever you want in life. ”
Cambosos said: "There are boxers like Duran, Pacquiao, Ali, Tyson, these people are incredible and I admire them. So, when I was a kid, I would look at these guys, when I was a young man playing amateur boxing, and eventually I was motivated to be a champion like these boxers. ”
