Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council: The successful holding of the Straits Forum eloquently shows that cross-strait exchanges and cooperation are unstoppable

Fujian Xiamen Satellite TV: According to reports, the 13th Straits Forum adopted a combination of online and offline methods, which is the largest cross-strait non-governmental exchange activity this year. Please tell us what results have been achieved at this session of the Straits Forum? Thank you.

Ma Xiaoguang: The 13th Straits Forum was successfully held on December 11. According to incomplete statistics, more than 9,600 people have participated in this forum online and offline, including about 4,600 Taiwanese guests, and the main results are reflected in the following aspects.

The first is to highlight the strong public opinion foundation for cross-strait exchanges. Despite the adverse effects of the new crown pneumonia epidemic and artificial obstruction on the island, the forum was still solemnly held, and Taiwan compatriots from all walks of life actively participated in the forum activities in different forms. Zhu Lilun, chairman of the Kuomintang of China, delivered a video speech at the forum, and Xia Liyan, vice chairman of the Forum, delivered a speech at the Straits Youth Forum. More than 100 Taiwan guests, including New Party Chairman Wu Chengdian, made a special trip from the island to attend the forum. Compatriots on both sides of the strait have enthusiastically participated in the grand occasion of this forum, which once again eloquently explains that the general trend of cross-strait exchanges and cooperation is unstoppable, and the willingness of compatriots to get closer to their relatives cannot be violated.

The second is to promote non-governmental cooperation to bear fruit. During the forum, a number of cross-strait investment and trade, industry cooperation and grass-roots exchange agreements were signed. For example, at the "Straits Financial Forum • Taiwan Enterprise Development Summit", the All-China Federation of Taiwan Enterprises signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Jinyuan Group. Mazu Cultural Week activities innovative integration of economic and trade cooperation topics, signed 15 projects, the planned investment amount of 3.73 billion yuan. The Straits Science and Technology Expert Forum shared more than 400 scientific and technological papers, and promoted 9 project cooperation, with an amount of more than 30 million yuan. The Straits Women's Forum promoted the signing of a paired contract between the female science and technology commissioner and representatives of Taiwan's science and technology field, and awarded a license to set up a cross-strait human resources service industrial park. The Cross-Strait Characteristic Township Exchange docking and Rural Industry Integration Development Forum promoted the signing of cooperation and exchange agreements between 10 agricultural enterprises in Fujian and Taiwan. Six project cooperation agreements were reached in cross-strait community exchange activities.

Third, pragmatic measures have been taken to help young people on both sides of the strait grow into talents. This forum focuses on the needs of young people, serves the development of young people, and actively responds to the strong desire of young people from Taiwan to come to the mainland to participate in exchanges and develop their careers. Xiamen City will introduce new policies and measures to deepen the exchange and integration of young people in Xiamen and Taiwan. Fuzhou City launched the first batch of 550 sets of public rental housing for Taiwan compatriots who are employed and started in the local area. The "Taiwan Talents Fujian Southwest (Xiamen) Matchmaking Meeting" provides 1603 jobs for young people in Taiwan. The Straits Youth Forum selected 10 outstanding entrepreneurship projects for Young People in Taiwan and listed them in the "101 Taiwan Youth Entrepreneurship Support Program" in Fujian. The Straits Women's Forum awarded gold medals to 10 outstanding projects in the Cross-Strait College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. The third Creative Graffiti Grand Prix selected 5 works from nearly 100 original design works to be created on the wall, and the unveiling ceremony of the Taiwan Youth Live Broadcast Base was held simultaneously. The Common Home Forum held the first Taiwan Tesco Festival to provide a platform for young people on both sides of the strait to start a business. The Straits Film and Television Season announced the results of the selection of the most popular film and television works among young people on both sides of the strait, and officially launched it for push broadcast.

The fourth is to promote the in-depth development of cross-strait "cloud" exchanges. Extensive use of new media, the series of forum activities from offline to "cloud", breaking the barrier of the epidemic, so that more compatriots on both sides of the strait can participate in exchanges and interactions. The exhibition and performance of traditional skills (intangible cultural heritage projects) on both sides of the strait are connected with the "cloud" on the golden gate site to talk about the inheritance and development of China's excellent traditional culture. The cross-strait good trend collection and the "Cross-Strait Family Affinity from CarefulNess and Heart" study camp attracted 100,000 Taiwan compatriots to participate online. The "Mazu Cup" cross-strait online marathon attracted more than 22,800 Taiwan compatriots to register for the marathon. The Cross-Strait Industrial and Commercial Cooperation Forum attracted 12,100 people to participate in the conference online. More than 1,500 cross-strait nursing experts and representatives gathered online at the "Straits Nursing Summit Forum" to discuss the mechanism of coordinated development of cross-strait nursing. The Straits Science and Technology Expert Forum attracted more than 300 experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from both sides of the strait to talk online about the integration of science and technology across the strait. The Cross-Strait Ship Administration Culture Seminar simultaneously launched the "Cloud Ship Administration" ship administration research big data database.

This forum has been widely reported by the media on both sides of the strait. Taking the mainland as an example, according to incomplete statistics, as of now, the central media has reported more than 2,700 relevant reports. In terms of online media, today's Headlines Strait Forum topics were read 190 million times, Douyin read 320 million times, and Sina Weibo topics read 270 million times.
