XFX Newsview was exposed in October as preparing a custom card for cryptocurrency mining, which is said to use Navi 12 GPUs and has never been released to gamers. But AMD is now using the Navi 12 chip on the mining card.
The mining card models offered by Vision ARE VISION BC-160, most of which will eventually be mined Ehtereum, and the Navi 12 GPU is manufactured using TSMC N7 process technology with 2304 stream processors (36 compute units). It uses two 4GB HBM2 memory stacks, each connected to a 1024-bit bus. The clock frequency of the memory is 1.6 Gbps, which means 512 GB/s of bandwidth.
The BC-160 offers a hash rate of 70 MH/s, largely thanks to high bandwidth memory. Ethereum DAG file sizes already require more than 4GB of capacity, which means XFX can no longer use a single 4GB stack. This hash rate is higher than the Radeon RX 6800 (XT), which is about 64 MH/s.
