The iPhone 14 Pro camera is upgraded to 48 megapixels

According to the latest revelations from Jeff Pu, an analyst at Haitong International Securities, Apple plans to release four iPhone 14s in September 2022, including the 6.1-inch iPhone 14, the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro and the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max.

In a study by Haitong International Securities, obtained by MacRumors, Jeff Pu said that the two Pro models of the iPhone 14 will be equipped with a rear-facing triple-camera system, including an upgraded 48-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and telephoto lens. This is consistent with the information given by Guo Mingxi, an analyst at Tianfeng International Securities, who claimed in April that the iPhone 14 Pro is equipped with a 48-megapixel main lens and will support 8K video recording.

Jeff Pu also expects the iPhone 14 Pro model to come with 8GB of RAM, up from 6GB on the iPhone 13 Pro model. While the rumor sounds plausible, some of the other iPhone 14 specs jeff Pu predicted don't seem to be very reliable, such as his claim that all four iPhone 14 models will have 120Hz displays, and back in September, display industry analyst Ross Young said that the standard iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max models will stick to 60Hz displays.

Pu also said that the standard version of the iPhone 14 starts with a storage capacity of 64GB, but the minimum storage capacity of the iPhone 13 series has reached 128GB, so this prediction is not very confident.

Jeff Pu was mixed in terms of the accuracy of Apple's whistleblowing. For example, he accurately broke the news that the 16-inch MacBook Pro and the iPad Pro with a mini LED display will be launched in 2021, but he was wrong about the launch of HomePods with 3D sensor cameras in 2019.
