In the late Qing Dynasty, wars broke out and the people did not have a good life. Under the persecution of the great powers, a series of treaties that humiliated the country made the country a stateless. During World War II, the Japanese army invaded China in an all-round way, and the central plains were full of holes, and the sons and daughters rushed to the battlefield to defend their homeland.
But some well-known martial arts masters in the world, such as Huang Feihong, Ip Man, Yang Luchan and others, did not go to the battlefield, why was this? Can't a master of high force subdue more enemies?
The following reasons for this question may be explained.

First, martial arts focus on duels between individuals, while battles between two armies focus on overall strength, including platooning. A person's excellence may give himself a slight advantage on the battlefield, but it does not affect the overall situation.
Second, in the era of hot weapons, martial arts that focus on the use of cold weapons have been eliminated on the battlefield. In modern wars, the only thing that can quickly reverse the war situation is powerful thermal weapons. The power of guns, bombs, and tanks is incomparable to that of swords. Therefore, martial arts masters who are good at cold weapons cannot play an advantage in the battlefield of hot weapon duels.
Third, the key to victory in war lies in whether the comprehensive national strength is strong or not. In the late Qing Dynasty, the country was closed to the outside world, the political system was decaying, the economy was backward, the military development had long been stagnant, and the backwardness of comprehensive national strength was the reason why China was gradually defeated and retreated at the beginning of the war.
Although we cannot kill all sides on the battlefield, martial arts, as the national essence of our country, are worthy of our understanding and learning, and martial arts masters are also worthy of our respect.
In 1867, foreigners set up a ring in Hong Kong with their vicious dogs and invited the Chinese to fight. Unwilling to be humiliated, Huang Feihong went to the ring to kill the evil dog and praise me.
A generation of grandmasters Yang Luchan, who founded the sect and developed Taijiquan. Tai Chi is still loved by the people in today's society, influenced by yin and yang, soft and rigid, practicing tai chi, and more strengthening the body.
Ip Man developed Wing Chun, making Chinese Wing Chun famous overseas and praised at home and abroad. At that time, the impression of foreign people on China was changed, not all of them were sick men in East Asia, and China had a very strong kung fu, and it was not easy to provoke Chinese.
Not to mention Ip Man's disciple Bruce Lee, who made Chinese kung fu famous all over the world. There is a statue of Bruce Lee in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and at a time of constant strife between croats and Bosniaks in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the two sides decided to build a sculpture representing peace in order to promote national unity. The two communities have different beliefs, each respecting their own hero, and still arguing over which hero the sculpture is.
In the end, the people of both communities agreed that Bruce Lee was an acceptable hero for both sides, so a statue of Bruce Lee stood there in the Plaza de España in the city of Mostar.
The contributions made by these masters are immeasurable, and their contribution to the preservation and inheritance of the national essence is no less than the achievements obtained by fighting on the battlefield.
In fact, as early as many years ago, as for the question of why martial arts masters did not go to the army to kill devils, the famous martial arts novel writer Jin Yong had already told the truth in his works: "A person who makes you invincible in the world of martial arts, but in the midst of these tens of millions of horses, it is useless, at most it is only to protect your own life."
The TV series of martial arts masters tearing ghosts by hand looks cool, but it is not real. Every soldier who is not good is also an object of our respect. And martial arts masters, in another field, have also made outstanding contributions, and they deserve the respect of each and every one of us.
