Hello everyone, I'm Lang Yueting. In recent years, more and more people hope to prevent cervical cancer by taking the HPV vaccine, and I have a lot of friends around me. I want to ask scientists, can we make this disease disappear in the world by vaccinating it?

Lang Yueting, hello, I am Qiao Youlin from the School of Medicine and Public Health of Peking Union Medical College, and I am very happy to interact with you.
Cervical cancer is the most common gynecological malignancy in women worldwide. Its etiology is clear and caused by persistent infection with high-risk HPV virus. Immunization with HPV vaccines and regular screening are the most effective means of preventing cervical cancer.

On November 17, 2020, the World Health Organization issued the "Global Strategy to Accelerate the Elimination of Cervical Cancer", and 194 countries around the world, including China, committed for the first time to eliminate a human cancer.
The 2030 phase objectives are:
Member States are to achieve HPV vaccination against 90 per cent of girls aged 9-14 years
70% of adult women receive high-precision screening at least once a time at least once at the age of 35 and 45
Third, 90% of confirmed patients receive standardized treatment
Cervical cancer will thus become the first human malignancy to be comprehensively prevented or eliminated through HPV vaccination, screening, and early diagnosis and treatment. China's cervical cancer prevention and treatment has a long way to go, let us join hands to jointly create a beautiful society without cervical cancer.
