On the evening of December 6, writer and screenwriter Sun Rui walked into the live broadcast room of the People's Literature Publishing House to bring readers the creation and sharing of the new book "Ghee and Spicy Hot", and launched a literary dialogue with writer and screenwriter Quan Yongxian and critic Cong Zhichen, interacting with readers and receiving a warm response.
Writer Sun Rui, whose ancestral home is Beijing, graduated from the Directing Department of Beijing Film Academy with a master's degree. In 2002, he began to create literature and published several novels, four of which were selected by the Selected Contemporary Novels. Short and medium stories have been published in major literary journals in China, and have been published by Novel Selection, Novel Monthly, Novella Anthology, Yangtze River Literature and Art. Good Novel", "Beijing Literature Novella Monthly" and other publications have been selected and selected into various annual anthologies.
Published by the People's Literature Publishing House in November this year, the novel collection "Butter and Spicy Hot" is composed of eight short and medium stories, all of which are set in the city and current life, and write about the spiritual dilemma of modern people.

At the event, Quan Yongxian said that the first novel in the novel collection was called "Ghee and Spicy Hot", and the heroine gave him a deep feeling. Sun Rui writes about the emotional collision between a young urban woman and a Tibetan youth, the heroine is the kind of careless, grinning personality, but the bravery embodied in her is actually the bravery of a modern urban person. Quan Yong first said that from the beginning of this person's detection of cancer, how she faced this matter, until she experienced an emotional twist and turn, and finally gave birth to the child, there was a very mellow thing here, which made him very moved.
Quan Yongxian believes that Sun Rui's novel is not designed, just like he plays football. He said that Sun Rui's novels also have sincerity, there is also casualness, and there is also his carelessness, which is consistent with his style of playing football.
Sun Rui said that the story of "Ghee and Spicy Hot" was originally intended to make a road movie, and an urban woman was on the road, and she was struggling with her heart. After she went on the road, she slowly calmed down a lot of boiling, anxious, and anxious things in her heart like spicy hot, and finally found a clean, bright, and clear direction for life like ghee. Sun Rui said that road movies are a particularly important genre in movies, and they are also very flattering or flattering types, because people want to go on the road when they encounter things. What's on the road? It is to change the fate and find the truth. At the same time, this is what literature has to do, so use the action of the highway to let her complete the spiritual journey.
Cong Zhichen believes that the script of this novel collection is indeed very strong, and many plots have a sense of lens. If the genre of the novel continues to grow and develop today, it still has vitality precisely because of its huge capacity. When a novel shares the stage with commentaries and Peking opera, it will absorb a lot of things from there. Many of the Ming and Qing dynasty scripts seen today actually have a very complicated relationship with the drama stage. In the printing age, the novel was another thing, and it had some interaction with poetry and drama. In today's day and age, it would be strange if fiction doesn't interact with the language of the camera. Xu Zechen, who won the Mao Dun Literature Award in the post-70s generation, said when he was in college that his novels actually absorbed a lot of things from movies, and he had a sense of lens in his mind when he wrote novels. Cong Zhichen believes that even if people who are not engaged in film work like Sun Rui and Quan Yongxian, as long as they are modern people, they must be different from Balzac. So this sense of lens entering the novel is not a problem, the problem is whether it is done well or not.
On the other hand, what particularly impressed him about this collection of novels was that Sun Rui, like many novelists today, wrote stories of failure and wrote about failed youth. But many people write about failed youth blindly decadent, and the protagonist ends up becoming decadent, disappearing, lying flat, or becoming a social bubble. But Sun Rui always gives people strength in novels. From Zhichen pointed out that many of Sun Rui's novels were particularly energetic in the end, going up sentence by sentence, and ending with a wail like an ode to joy, he suddenly felt that this kind of novel was wonderful. And this feeling is too strange, too complicated, and it is different from his previous reading habits. This kind of novel can only be written by Sun Rui, who is 40 years old today.
After the publication of "Ghee and Spicy Hot", it also received attention from all walks of life. Actor Wu Gang said that many years ago, he played a character in Sun Rui's novel, that is, a father with a humorous temperament and full of fun in life - of course, there is also a rebellious son around him. Years have passed, I heard that Sun Rui has also become a father, I guess: he should also change from a young man who tries to subvert the world to a post-80s father who uses humor and optimism to resolve the difficulties of life! This is the face of his new work, and I hope to play a "grandpa" he wrote in the future.
Actor Liu Lin said that she had a brief cooperation with Sun Rui, who is both a novelist and a director, and could feel that his creation paid attention to details and made great efforts in the emotions of the characters. In particular, the unexpected reversal of the story reveals the agility and affection of his creation.
Writer Shi Yifeng believes that Sun Rui became famous for his youth novels, and recent short stories reflect the qualities of a mature writer. The understanding of life and life is unique, and the ability to think deeply is maintained in generosity, and it can write abstract situations through brushstrokes close to reality.
Screenwriter Wang Xiaogun mentioned that he and Sun Rui have known each other more than a decade ago. At that time, we were in our twenties, and everyone called him "Old Sun". Now he is really developing in the direction of "Lao Sun", the protagonist has more "vicissitudes", and the narrative is more sophisticated. Lao Sun loves to use the first person to narrate, plus his surname, always gives people a feeling of "Old Sun". But these "old grandchildren" are not people with great supernatural powers, but people who are struggling in the mire, as if the Buddha is testing them, and in this way, giving them the ability to save themselves.
