——Reading "Kikujo Chronicle" has a feeling

On this windy and sunny afternoon, the sun was fierce and transparent. I sat by the window, and my eyes fell on the cover of "Jucheng Chronicles" on the windowsill, which was the chrysanthemum picture of the painter Li Renyi: a cluster of autumn chrysanthemums standing silently on the edge of the mountain stone, stubborn and independent, as if blooming in the cold wind for a thousand years. My heart couldn't help but hold the book in my hand and read it carefully.
"Jucheng Chronicle" is a documentary literary work, written by Li Donghong, a member of the Chinese Writers Association, sprinkled with hundreds of thousands of words, very thick and beautifully printed, and many Chinese paintings or photos related to the content are inserted in the book, which is full of modern atmosphere and strong historical vicissitudes.
Originally thought that the "chronicle" type of text, more flat and direct, just to make an objective record of the facts, instrumental than literary and humanistic, readability will not be too strong. Unexpectedly, after opening the book, I was deeply attracted.
What a great book! No wonder Mr. Li Renyi said in the preface to the Jucheng Chronicle: "The Jucheng Chronicle is a documentary literature in the form of prose. "This book does have both the rigor of historical materials and the natural freshness of prose. The author takes the Mai family to find the roots as the main line, and uses the brushwork of small to see the big and the small to integrate into the folk customs of Jucheng and the outlook on life and values of different eras, through the experiences and stories of specific characters, let people see the spirit of Chrysanthemum, that is, the spirit of Jucheng: fraternity and tolerance, hard work and enterprising, self-improvement, innovation and change. From this book, I also learned about the moral models that are rooted in good traditions and established in the heritage of traditional culture. As Mr. Li Renyi said in the preface: "Between the lines, the author solidifies the trivial things of mortals into an upward spiritual wealth, highlighting the essence of the Chinese spirit." It is also thousands of Chinese grassroots spirits that have converged into a capital Chinese spirit. "Perhaps, this is the author's original intention in creating this book.
In fact, what impressed me more deeply in this book was the familiarity and kindness, and the indescribable "truth". Every character and event that appears in the book is the result of the author's rigorous research, and it is never imaginary. Those who are alive, who live in this land, are among us and have never gone away. They are Jucheng people, ordinary people, ordinary and down-to-earth, from ancient times to the present. It can be said that "authenticity" is a major feature of this book. What could be more touching than this immersive reality?
When I opened the book, I saw that the characters described in the book were the predecessors I knew and admired; the local scenery described in the book, I still often lingered there, but I never thought that it had such a poetic and brilliant time. With such a concrete and perceptible character and environment, there is naturally more emotional closeness, as if time and space travel, and the sleeping history surfaces one by one.
In this book, taking the search for the footprints of the martyrs as a guide, and taking the Mai family as the representative, he describes the patriotic feelings of the people of Jucheng who inherit the past and open up the future, the so-called deep roots and leaves, and what trees bear what fruits. The genes of the Sui Dynasty's hero Mai Tiejian's loyalty to the king and the country have been endless, and I have been deeply touched by the fearlessness and open-mindedness shown by his descendants in the Xinhai Revolution and their responsibility to take the world as their own responsibility. Although his relatives did not participate in the revolution, they all had the good qualities of serving the people and being enthusiastic about the public good. Thinking that such a person once lived in such a familiar land, and was once so close, how could I not suddenly feel a sense of cordiality and touch?

Mr. Mai Guanglin is a descendant of the Mai family, and it is precisely because of his efforts that the revolutionary years of Jucheng that were once vigorous can reappear in front of us, and it is through his revolutionary footprints of his ancestors that we have deeper experienced the difficult and tortuous Xinhai Revolution led by Dr. Sun Yat-sen. Under the influence of Sun Yat-sen's revolutionary ideals, many young people with lofty ideals in Jucheng, including the descendants of the Mai clan, also embarked on the revolutionary road and made their own contributions to China's future and destiny. Mr. Mai Guanglin's great-grandfather and grandfather all have a deep relationship with Dr. Sun Yat-sen, they are all revolutionaries, and his parents are doctors who save lives and help the injured. When Mr. Mai Guanglin told about the past deeds of his parents, the elders' eagerness for justice and righteousness, the urgency of others, and the great love of the doctors' parents often touched my eyes.

Throughout her medical practice, there are too many songs and tears, and there are too many remarkable deeds. Whenever I read it, it is all awe-inspiring. In addition, there are admirable town historians and painters such as Liang Huahai, Li Zhucheng, and Mai Tiantai, who have done their best to inherit the precious spiritual culture of Juxiang with their words and deeds (revision of history and publication of books).
Such "reality" is also reflected in the streets and alleys we are familiar with: Dengyun Road, Lantian Street, Meihua Cave, Twelve Bridges, Shuangmeifu, Shuangmei Bridge, Dalan ... What an imaginative and poetic name! I remember that I once imagined for "five pines and six roads, three waters, one hole plum blossom twelve bridges", what a poetic verse, like a flowing classical poem, elegant and rich in connotation. After reading the "Chronicle of Jucheng" and "Xiaolan Town Chronicle", I realized that this is really what Jucheng looked like in the past, so beautiful and quiet. Looking back at the current Jucheng, bustling and modern, each has its own beauty.

Therefore, in the "Jucheng Chronicle", we have the privilege of understanding the daily life of ordinary people, and from these ordinary and fragmented daily lives, we see the industriousness and steadfastness of the people of Jucheng, kindness and kindness, righteousness and thin clouds, and love and hatred. Isn't the public welfare undertaking and dedication of the descendants of the Mai clan also the spiritual outlook of thousands of People in Jucheng City?
