The Weeping Scarecrow

author:Lee Chang Shu

Autumn has arrived, and a bunch of heavy grain ears have bent the waist of a rice plant.

A flock of sparrows flew in, ate a full meal, sang cheerful songs, and flew into the distance...

The Weeping Scarecrow

An old farmer walking in the field, saw a group of sparrows, flying to eat, eating and leaving, the ripe millet was eaten by the sparrows, and his heart hurt a little!

Back at home, he found bamboo and straw and tied them to the adult form. He found a torn hat and put it on for the scarecrow, and dressed him up in disguise, like a samurai dressed up! The old farmer thought to himself: I put this scarecrow in the field, and see if your sparrows dare to come and eat my grain...

The scarecrow was placed in the rice field by the old farmer, which gave the scarecrow the sacred historical life of guarding the crops. The scarecrow did not live up to the old farmer's wishes, like a sentry, sticking to the line of the rice field day and night, watching the wind and grass in the field vigilantly.

Early the next morning, flocks of sparrows flew in, looked at the scarecrows in the field, as if they had found something, and flew away helplessly...

The Weeping Scarecrow

The autumn wind blows in gusts, and the farmers who have worked hard for a year, with the joy of the harvest, wield a cheerful scythe, cut the ripe rice, beat it into bundles, and then pick it up to the family's barn...

In the fields after the autumn harvest, the Scarecrow is still faithfully performing his duties. A few sparrows hesitated to land in the field, jumping and jumping, looking for the grain left in the field.

When the autumn wind blew, the scarecrow waved his fan vigorously and shouted anxiously: Hurry up and leave, and do not eat the grain of the peasants. The little sparrow squeaked and flew away in horror.

The scarecrow looked down at his worn-out clothes that had been invaded by the wind and rain, and his voice felt a little dumb. But seeing the sparrow flying away in horror, he still hummed a little tune with pleasure.

Autumn is deep, and the morning in the field has a thin layer of white frost. A flock of sparrows flew in and fell straight into the field, as if they had not seen the scarecrow.

The Scarecrow was furious, waving his fan vigorously and shouting loudly. But these sparrows were already veterans of stealing, and had turned a blind eye to the Scarecrow and paid no attention to them.

An old sparrow fell to the scarecrow's outstretched arm and said in a mocking tone, "What are you shouting?" When the rice is harvested, the rest of the grain is left for us to eat. If we don't eat, the grain will rot. Besides, the master doesn't care, you are still working so hard, aren't you blind and nosy? Can your master know your hard heart?

The straw trembled with popularity, unable to speak, and watched as the sparrows flew around in the ground and ransacked the grain before they flew away.

The Weeping Scarecrow

Winter came, the north wind was blowing tighter and tighter, the snow was falling one after another, and the scarecrow was shivering with cold. How it longed for its master to come to this field quickly and take it back home! But no matter how it waved the fan and shouted loudly, the owner did not hear it, and never came to this field.

Thinking of the sparrow's words, the more sad it became, and it involuntarily shed tears and secretly wept!

The Weeping Scarecrow

When the spring flowers bloomed, the owner finally came to this field. He was walking in the field with a hoe, and suddenly stepped on something soft, and he was startled.

Looking down, it was a pile of rags wrapped in rotten straw. Then he suddenly remembered that it was the scarecrow he had set up in the rice field last autumn!
