Baotou character: Hou Jing, imprisoned emperor Wu of Liang, tyrannically abused the people of Jiangnan, and became emperor for 120 days

Hou Jing (503–552), courtesy name Wanjing, was a Xianbei huaren of Huaishuo Town in Northern Wei (present-day Guyang County, Baotou). When he was a teenager, he was deeply influenced by the martial customs of the border, misbehaving, sexual plagiarism, good riding and shooting, brave and aggressive, and strong, and was deeply feared by the township. At first, he was a soldier in Huaishuo Town, and later served as a low-level official such as Gong Cao Shi and Foreign Soldier History.

Hou Jing and Gao Huan, the leader of the Huaishuo Town team, were very friendly and established a career with Tu Jianxun. In the first year of the Northern Wei Dynasty Xiaoming Emperor Wu Tai (528 AD), the Xiurong Chuan Qihu chieftain Erzhu Rong launched the Heyin Rebellion and seized the military and political power of Northern Wei, and Hou Jing defected to Erzhu Rong, because of his alertness and agility, and even Erzhu Rong was very important.

In August of the first year of Emperor Xiaozhuang's reign (528 CE), Hou Jing was defeated by the rebels and promoted to Dingzhou Assassin History and Daxingtai, and was made the Duke of Puyang Commandery. In the second year of Emperor Xiaowu's reign (533 CE), Hou Jing saw that Gao Huan was in full swing, so he attached himself to Gao Huan and tried to develop again. Hou Jing was brave and able to fight, and the army had the law, and paid special attention to using thick profits to care for the soldiers. After each victory, the treasures plundered by the generals were divided with their subordinates, so they were supported by the people and "salty for use." He is good at strategy, cunning and power change, "quite accustomed to the formation" and "more cunning". Because of his skillful deception and many victories in battle, he used the Prancing Horse and crossed the gun under Gao Huan's heavy use, and became an important general of the Eastern Wei Dynasty.

After The Eastern Wei Dynasty moved its capital to Yi (邺, in present-day Northern Anyang, Henan), Gao Huan ordered Hou Jing to pass through Henan and win repeated victories. In the third year of the reign of Emperor Xiaojing of Eastern Wei (541 CE), Hou Jing of Eastern Wei appointed Him as the official Shangshu (尚書) and Shangshu (尚書仆射), the Daxingtai of Henan Province, and the autocratic of Henan, becoming an independent feudal official. Hou Jingguan Was Prosperous, with authority in his hands, a wide range of people, and strong strength, so he flew high, and even Gao Cheng, the son of Gao Huan, did not look at it in his eyes, and said wildly: "Wang (Gao Huan) is here, I dare not be different, Wang Wu, I cannot work with Xianbei Xiao'er (Gao Cheng)." "

In the first month of the fifth year of Emperor Xiaojing's reign (547 AD), Gao Huan died. Gao Cheng preemptively ordered Hou Jing to enter the court. Hou Jing knew that once he entered the dynasty, his life would be in danger, so he openly rebelled. Gao Cheng sent heavy troops to surround Hou Jing. Hou Jing was in a hurry to defeat the enemy, and learned the "Three Caves of cunning rabbits", first asked Western Wei for help, and then sent people to express Xiao Yan, pouring the whole territory of Henan and the three prefectures of Qizhong to lower Liang. Emperor Xiao Yan of Liangwu coveted the area south of the Yellow River controlled by Hou Jing, and Li Lingzhi fainted, lured wolves into the house, and wanted to use Hou Jing's power to expand the territory to the north, and surrendered and made him the king of Henan, the great general, and the Daxingtai.

In August of the second year of Emperor Taiqing of Qiwu (548 AD), Hou Jing rebelled against Liang in Shouyang in the name of three corrupt officials who had been complicit for a long time, who had been arrogant and greedy, and who had been hated by the people of the time for hiding their lords and gaining power.

At this time, the Liang Dynasty, whether it was economic and military, or class contradictions, and contradictions within the ruling class, was already in crisis. Xiao Yan drowned in the interpretation of teachings, abolished the Imperial Program, the scholar-doctor went up and down, fought for empty talk, did not practice martial arts, and was lifeless. Hou Jing raised an army to attack it. In March of the third year of Emperor Taiqing of Qiwu (549 AD), Taicheng fell, and Xiao Yan became a prisoner of the order and starved to death in May. Hou Jing falsely established Emperor Jianwen of Liang, and Liang's name survived.

After Hou Jing entered the city, he made himself the governor of dadu and the chancellor of Shang Shushi, and held the festival and held the power of the Liang Dynasty. Emperor Wen of Liang became the meat on his tricks, and Xiao Liang had no real name.

Hou Jing was born in the army and had great ambitions and short knowledge. In the long years of war and chaos, he developed a "repeated guessing and forbearance", a cruel and vicious personality, and a violent and murderous spirit. During the attack on Jiankang, the arsonists plundered the people, regardless of the golden millet, and plundered it arbitrarily. He ordered the people to build tushan to attack the city, no matter how noble or low, day and night, chaotic and chaotic, the tired killed to fill the mountain, and the cries were earth-shattering. After the city was destroyed, the sick and dead bodies were gathered and burned, which was unbearable to see. For this turmoil at the end of Liang, history called it "Hou Jing's Rebellion". Hou Jing's rebellion not only caused the broad masses of working people to suffer hardships, but also greatly damaged social production, and the economy and culture of Jiangnan suffered huge losses, and the relatively wealthy Liang capital Jiankang was devastated after burning and plundering, like Wucheng. "The hukou is one hundred and one or two, and the south bank of the great river is extremely smokeless", and many exquisite and majestic buildings and various cultural relics and books no longer exist.

Hou Jing, having lost the hearts and minds of the people, made a serious tactical mistake and was defeated by the Liang generals Wang Shengxian and Chen Baxian. After retiring to Jiankang, fearing that he would not be able to survive for a long time, and wanting to become the heart of the emperor as soon as possible, Emperor Qiwu of Taiqing in August of the fifth year (551 AD), imprisoned Emperor Jianwen, established Xiao Dong the Prince of Yuzhang, and changed his name to Yuan Tianzheng. In September, he killed Emperor Jianwen and his sons. In November, Xiao Dong was deposed and established on his own, and the name of the country was changed to Yuan Taishi and the name of the country was Han. However, he only served as emperor for 120 days, and was assassinated by his subordinates during the pursuit of Wang Shengfeng and Chen Baxian. After Hou Jing's death, his head was sent to Jiangling, his hands were sent to Northern Qi, and his body was sent to Jiankang, where he exposed the body for three days and burned his bones and ashes.
