Regarding the name Chongqing, the time has been a long time, and it has flowed in the long river of history for eight hundred and thirty years. In 1189, Emperor Guangzong of Song first created King Gong here, and soon after succeeded to the throne and ascended the throne. In addition to his happiness, Song Guangzong claimed that this place was a "double celebration", so he named it Chongqing.
Chongqing is a city full of poetry, and for thousands of years, many literati and inkers have loved it, leaving many wonderful works and stories here. For example, Shi Xian's "Early White Emperor City":

Between the clouds of the White Emperor,
A thousand miles of Gangneung one day back.
The apes on both sides of the strait can't stop crying,
The light boat has passed through the Ten Thousand Heavy Mountains.
The poem was written in March of the second year of the Tang Dynasty (759), when there was a severe drought in the Guanzhong region. Out of consideration, Tang Suzong decided to grant amnesty to the world, and all the death sentences were changed to exile, and all prisoners in exile and below were acquitted. Li Bai was exiled to Yelang because he was involved in the war for imperial power, and at this time he just walked to the White Emperor City.
Receiving this good news, Li Bai's mood was very excited, and he immediately took a boat down the river and went to Jiangling to meet his family. When passing through the Three Gorges on the road, the uninterrupted cry of apes in his ears and the cascading mountains on the banks of the river made Li Baishixing feel great, and he immediately chanted out this seven masterpieces that have been passed down through the ages.
Later generations spoke highly of this poem, and the Ming Dynasty Yang Shen once praised: "This is the crown of the Tang Dynasty's seven utterances, and the wind and rain are weeping ghosts and gods!" ”
In addition to Shi Xian's works, I personally feel that the work that best reflects the wonderful characteristics of Chongqing's landscape is Li Shangyin's "Night Rain Sends North":

The return date of the king is not due,
Bashan night rain rises autumn pool.
He Dang cut the western window candle,
But when it rains at night.
The poem was written in the second year of Da Zhong (848 AD), when Li Shangyin's superior, Zheng Ya, was framed by political enemies and demoted to Xunzhou to do the assassination history. Li Shangyin's rice bowl naturally soaked in soup. There was no way, he had to return all the way north by water and back to his home in Chang'an.
When he reached the land of Bashu, he encountered a continuous rainy season. The Bashan Shu water is already extremely steep, and after the rain, the mountain road is even more muddy and impossible to walk. There was no way, Li Shangyin had to find a temporary residence to stay, ready to wait for the rain to stop before leaving. But I didn't expect that this stay would be more than a month.
On a rainy night, Li Shangyin guarded a dim oil lamp, looked sadly out of the dark window, and listened to the sound of rain hitting the plantains. Continuous nostalgia and endless loneliness, accompanied by the sound of rain, spread in the room.
On such a sad rainy night, Li Shangyin remembered his wife who was thousands of miles away, what was she doing now? Maybe it is also sitting under the dim oil lamp, thinking of myself in the distance!
Thinking of this, Li Shangyin's mouth burst into a bitter smile, he picked up the oil lamp on the table, and wrote this poem "Night Rain Sent North" with affectionate pen and ink, telling the thoughts of his wife in his heart.
Three thousand years of Jiangzhou Capital, eight hundred years of Chongqing City, this place in Chongqing is home to the joy and sorrow of many poets, nor do I know how many unknown moving stories are buried. The mountain city in the poem is fresh and pleasant, quiet and beautiful, and we long to be immersed in it forever and do not want to wake up!
