In manchuria's "post-emperor Taiji era", it is more difficult to say which of Dorgon and Hauge is stronger, and there are many complicated factors. It should be said that in the way of paper accounting alone, Hauge not only has an advantage, but also has a small advantage. However, the end result was hauge's fiasco, and Dorgon exchanged his position for power and became the regent to act on his behalf. Why? In addition to some accidental factors, the strength and loyalty of some seemingly Hauge supporters are also worth studying. Below, we may wish to analyze which of dorgon and Hauge is stronger from the perspective of the Manchu, Mongolian and Han tribes in the early Manchu Qing Dynasty.

The situation of the Manchus
The Manchus were a strong ethnic group in Manchukuo at that time, and the Eight Flags system was heavily fortified, so this account can be calculated most clearly.
Let's first look at dorgon's supporters: the clear supporters are three people: Dorgon himself, Dordor, and Azig, who hold two white flags and a part of the yellow flag in their hands, a total of 98 cattle troops; and there is also an ambiguous supporter: Daishan's grandson Adaly, who has a part of the red flag in his hand, but is not reliable, because the two red flag masters Daishan is Adali's grandfather, and Adali must be approved to do anything by Daishan.
Let's look at Hauge's supporters: the clear supporters are also three people: Hauge himself, Daishan, and Zilharang. Among them, Hauge's own positive blue flag has 23 cattle records, and Daishan and Zilharan have a combined 96 cattle records. In addition, there are two yellow flags and a part of other forces with a total of 94 cattle records, and their representatives Sony and Ao Bai give a clear message of support: Li Wangzi! But whether the prince is specifically Hauge or not, they did not express their position. Therefore, this part of the force will never support Dolgun.
It can be seen that in terms of the number of troops, Hauge is 213 to 98 if you count the two yellow flags, occupying an absolute advantage.
Situation in Mongolia
The Mongol influence on the internal affairs of the Manchus was mainly achieved through marriage. If we look at the harems of Dorgon, Hauge, and Huang Taiji at this time, it is obvious that the harem of Huang Taiji is almost exclusively a Mongolian harem. The wives of Dorgon and Hauge were also from the Borzigit clan of the Mongolian Korqin. Hauge's wife was also the sister of Empress Xiaozhuang. Therefore, the Mongol forces could not strongly support Dorgon in any case.
The situation of the Han Chinese
The Han generals in the Manchus, such as the later famous Tong brothers, the important minister Fan Wencheng, the demotionary generals Kong Youde, Geng Zhongming, Shang Kexi, Hong Chengzu, Zu Dashou and others, although they did not have serious military strength in their hands, their influence was very huge. And these people were incorporated into two yellow flags and positive red and blue flags (Fan Wencheng and Tong Yangzheng were set with yellow flags; Zu Dashou was set with yellow flags; Hong Chengzuo was set with red flags, Shang Kexi was set with blue flags for the Han army, and Kong Youde, who held artillery in his hand, was the red flag of the Han army). When the two males are fighting, Hauge can easily classify these Hanchen as his supporters.
The support of so many forces has completely widened the gap between the strength of Hauge and Dorgon. No matter how you calculate it, Hauge's support is far greater than Dorgon's, and he believes that his ascension to the throne as emperor should be said to be without much suspense. However, he did not carefully analyze the strength of these supporters of his own.
First of all, let's talk about the Eight Banners of the Manchus. In fact, the powerful two yellow flags have never explicitly expressed their desire to support Hauge, but have always said "Establish the Prince", as for which prince to establish, but it has not been clearly stated; Daishan and Zilharang, in fact, are two old foxes, if they really fight, whether they can stand with Hauge is very questionable; the Mongolian power in the harem is also a pot of warm water, and the direction of their support is also the child of the Emperor Taiji, not necessarily Hauge; as for the Han people, their identity in Manchuria is awkward, and when the matter comes to an end, Only choose Mingzhe to protect himself. So, the hardcore force that really supports Hauge is his positive blue flag. If you do the math, he's far behind Dorgon.
However, Hauge obviously did not see this, so he would "fake politeness" in the emperor's election meeting as a victor, saying that he was "talentless and immoral" and that it was difficult to take on this big responsibility. Unexpectedly, Dorgon took advantage of his strength to directly veto Hauge's heir qualification as an uncle, and at the same time withdrew from the competition, locking the emperor's candidates on the young princes of the Emperor Taiji.
At this time, the supporters of Hauge showed their colors: no one spoke for him! In fact, these Hauge thought they were supporting only the Emperor Taiji's crown prince. As for which prince it is, it doesn't really matter. That is to say, these are not hauge's hardcore, loyalty is 50% is already good. Dorgon, on the other hand, is his two brothers who are his staunch supporters and 100% loyal! This is why Hauge was easily picked up by Dorgon after his failed bid for the throne.
