Yu Wenhai, originally from Shandong, left his hometown with his parents in 1923, begged along the road, ran to a ravine behind Youyi Village in Qinyuan County, Shanxi, and left a household in an old earthen kiln, so he changed from a Shandong to a Shanxi.
In front of the earthen kiln is a deep mountain, overgrown with bushes, hares, wild boars, foxes and other birds and animals. Yu Wenhai found a musket and learned to hunt, thus practicing a good marksmanship. At the age of 22, he simply left home to live in the mountains and specialized in hunting.
Unexpectedly, at the end of 1938, the Japanese army invading China ran to Qinyuan and burned and looted in Chengguan, Zhongyu, Yanzhai, and Jiaokou strongholds. Once Yu Wenhai personally saw a group of Japanese soldiers stripping a young girl of her clothes in public, picking it on the tip of a bayonet, and torturing her to death. Once again, after the "sweeping" of the Japanese army, Yu Wenhai returned to the village and saw more than a dozen corpses of his father and fellow villagers lying on the street.
In order to avenge the snow hatred, he joined the militia organization in the village. His superiors gave him a steel gun. Since then, Yu Wenhai has become a backbone member of the anti-Japanese resistance.
In October 1942, the famous Qinyuan Siege War began, and all the villagers were organized, and Yu Wenhai's Youyi Village Militia took on the task of defending the villagers and waiting for the opportunity to annihilate the enemy.
One day, a group of Japanese troops "swept up" in Yanzhai, was attacked by the Yanzhai militia, and fled back to the stronghold. Yu Wenhai analyzed that the Japanese army had suffered losses in Yanzhai and was short of food, and did not dare to go to Yanzhai again, and would definitely turn to Youyi Village, so he ambushed him in Taobugou with the militia.
The next afternoon, about a company of Japanese soldiers crossed the Qin River and came to Taobugou. Yu Wenhai, He Fengguang, and others led the militia to hide on the Yang Lin pagoda and condescending.
The Japanese army ran to Zhuangzi to grab grain and grab things, a ghost officer held up a command knife, and shouted wildly, Yu Wenhai took a look, pulled the board machine, "snap-- " A gunshot sounded, and the Japanese officer was killed. Then the guns of the other militiamen crackled.
The Japanese army was suddenly attacked, and it was in a mess, rushing to carry the corpses and wounded soldiers and fleeing.
One morning, the county wheel team ordered the Youyi and Yanzhai militia stationed in Shiqu to go up the mountain to fight an ambush of the devils.
Unexpectedly, they ambushed on the mountain for most of the day, and there was no movement. Yu Wenhai could not hold back his temperament, took a few militiamen, and quietly touched the river beach. As a result, more than 80 Japanese troops were seen circling shiqu mountain along the Erqin Highway, with the two Japanese troops riding on horses in front of them. Yu Wenhai immediately lay down on the ground and shot at the first guy, and as soon as the gun sounded, the horse fell to the ground, and then he fired a second shot, and the ghost also went to the western sky. He fired another shot, and another Japanese officer fell.
He began to fight lying down, and then simply knelt down to fight, not knowing how many Japanese troops were killed, until the whistle on the top of the hill sounded, and then withdrew.
The news of the victory of the Taobugou ambush of the Japanese army soon spread throughout the county, and Yu Wenhai's deeds also spread more and more, and later some people even said that Yu Wenhai had a god's eye and a hundred steps through Yang. The Japanese army was terrified to hear Yu Wenhai's name. Yu Wenhai, the more daring he hit, the more accurate he was, the more accurate he was, sometimes he walked around the mountain alone with a gun on his back, and when he saw the opportunity, he would let go of a cold gun to kill and injure the devil.
Once, he was walking around the mountains when he suddenly found an Eighth Route Army reconnaissance being chased by a group of Japanese troops. He hurriedly raised his gun, aimed slightly, and shot down the leading Japanese army, frightening the other Japanese soldiers to lie on the ground and never dare to chase anymore.
The Scouts of the Eighth Route Army were able to escape.
On another occasion, the county guerrilla brigade conveyed an order that the Japanese army should transport a batch of ammunition from Qin County in one or two days, and ordered the rotational militia to fight an ambush on the mountain of The Shangguan Army. However, Yu Wenhai and the others waited for three days and three nights, and the devils did not move. At the second o'clock of the fourth day, the Japanese troops at the junction finally set off on donkeys and horses, squirming along the road towards Guanjun Mountain. In front of a dozen people rushed to the cattle, and in the back was a large group of Japanese troops.
When they approached the ambush circle, there was a sudden "popping" sound, and a Japanese officer was hit by a shot by Yu Wenhai and fell to the ground; immediately, the bullets and grenades of the militia blossomed in the enemy group, blowing up the Japanese army's ass and urine, and fled in a panic.
Taking advantage of the chaos of the Japanese army, Yu Wenhaifei also rushed into the enemy group, and one person recaptured three 38-type rifles, more than a hundred rounds of ammunition, and more than a dozen grenades.
In this battle, the Japanese army was killed and wounded by the militia more than 20 people.
Yu Wenhai's sharp gun greatly increased the morale of his comrades-in-arms. Militiamen often say:
"With Yu Wenhai playing cover, we are very relieved!"
During the two-and-a-half-year siege of the Japanese army, Yu Wenhai killed no less than 300 Japanese troops with one gun. In January 1945, the Taiyue Bureau of the Luyu Border Region of Jinji and Hebei held a meeting of heroes in Zhengzhuang, Shimin County, and awarded Yu Wenhai the titles of "Hero of Militia Killing enemies" and "Sharpshooter".
