Sun Yuanliang's first escape was in 1926 during the Northern Expedition of Sun Chuanfang, when he successfully captured Nanchang because of his excellent command ability and strong attack of the troops. Therefore, after Chiang Kai-shek's incident at that time, the first thought was to shoot him, but at that time many people thought that Sun Yuanliang's talent was relatively excellent, and if he could perform well afterwards, he could also make a very important contribution to the party-state, so in the end Chiang Kai-shek did not kill him.
Later, in order to let him quickly improve his own ability, he let him study at the Japanese Army School for a period of time. After returning to China, he was still relatively capable, so he once again served as the commander of the First Brigade Artillery Regiment, and a few years later he was promoted to brigade commander. In fact, from his official position, we can see that he was indeed a capable person, and later when the Battle of Songhu broke out, Sun Yuanliang once again led his troops to kill the enemy. In this Battle of Songhu, his performance is still remarkable, although he ran out to enjoy himself in the middle of the way, but after all, on the battlefield, he was still more serious and made great achievements.
Later, Sun Yuanliang participated in the defense of Nanjing, and in this battle, he never had the outstanding performance before. On the one hand, because he did not have enough troops in his hands, on the other hand, he himself coveted pleasure every day, so he did not think about how to conduct military command on the battlefield. Later, when the Japanese launched an attack, it only took two or three days for the Zhonghua Gate to be broken, and Sun Yuanliang thought that he had returned to heaven and lacked skills, so he ran directly and hid inside the Qinglou.
Later, he participated in the Battle of Huaihai, in fact, Chiang Kai-shek was still relatively tolerant of him, and even if he escaped many times, Chiang Kai-shek did not punish him too much. Later, in the Battle of Huaihai, he once again led a team to resist the war, but this battle still faced a defeat. Under such circumstances, Sun Yuanliang directly disguised himself as a lieutenant aide-de-camp, took advantage of the chaos of the war and quietly fled, after escaping, he changed his clothes and played the role of a peasant, successfully escaping from the battlefield.
Sun Yuanliang is indeed a person who is very good at disguise and good at escaping, perhaps because of the process of escaping over the years, he has added a lot of practical experience to himself. And on the road to escape, he is extremely good at disguise, even if he encounters many cross-examinations by others, he can answer those questions without blushing. He was meticulous and quick-witted, but if he used this wisdom on the battlefield, he might be able to play it better, but he used his mind to escape.
In fact, all along, Chiang Kai-shek still trusted Sun Yuanliang, and in many battles, his performance really made people feel a little helpless. However, although Chiang Kai-shek had severe criticism of him, in the final analysis he still had high hopes for him, and he commanded him on several battles. But Chiang Kai-shek is ultimately looking at the deviation, Sun Yuanliang does have talent, brains, and wisdom, but his shortcomings are also many, this is like the barrel effect, to see a person's shortest board, not to see a person's longest board.
