"First of all, the truth is, that night, when they were playing, we were really tracking whether he could shoot 16 three-pointers — it just let you know how amazing he was," James said. "If there's one guy in NBA history who can shoot 16 three-pointers, it's Stephen Curry. I sat there mentally arithmetic. I liked 16. Well, I know he's done 12 times. If anyone can do it, it must be him. "It lets you know how amazing he is.

"It's going to happen. Maybe it won't happen tomorrow... But it will happen. We've all witnessed what Stephen Curry has done in his career and the way he's changed the game. He is a once-in-a-lifetime basketball player. ”

Curry and LeBron have become the NBA's best-known faces, especially after four consecutive Finals showdowns.

In Philadelphia's game against the 76ers on Saturday night, Stephen was just 10 three-pointers away from catching up with Allen's 2,973 points.

When Curry broke the record On Friday night, James expressed a whole bunch of emotions. Aaron himself even said that he would not attempt to be suspicious as Curry approached the record and spoke to Curry throughout the process.

"I talked to the Warriors guys, and actually I talked to Stephen a little bit, to try to help him navigate the whole process," Allen said on Friday's Dan Patrick show. "It's an exciting time for him and I try to tell him about what I'm dealing with, you know, getting into the game and enjoying everything about it.

If Curry can't break the record on Saturday night, his next chance will be monday night against the Pacers in Indianapolis. The Warriors are reportedly considering giving Curry a break from that game in Indiana, but that could depend on what happened Saturday night in the City of Brotherly Love.
