The companion article of the exhibition, "The Story of the Street - Guangzhou 1921", was exhibited at the Lingnan Finance Museum at the same time.
This exhibition selects a day at the end of 1921, allowing the audience to walk in Guangzhou from the perspective of "walking street" (Cantonese "shopping") and presenting the changes in all aspects of Guangzhou with their own eyes.
The exhibition's visiting streamline is designed as a double exhibition line to the left and right, and visitors can choose the identity of the young master of Dongshan or Miss Xiguan, and set off from Dongshan or Xiguan to discover the changes in Guangzhou according to the 1921 map. Using scene-based design, the audience can feel the Guangzhou of a century ago from the immersive experience and experience the "new" of Guangzhou. And "The Story of the Street - Guangzhou 1921" continues to tell the story of the young master dongshan and miss Xiguan meeting on the street.
1921 was a special year for Guangzhou. On February 15, 1921, the Guangzhou City Hall was established, which was not only the beginning of the founding of Guangzhou, but also the beginning of China's founding municipal system, with six bureaus of finance, public security, public works, education, health, and public utilities, and began a comprehensive municipal construction; in the spring of March, the early organization of the Communist Party of Guangzhou was established, which was one of the six early organizations of the Communist Party before the founding of the Communist Party of China; on May 5, Sun Yat-sen took office as a very large president in Guangzhou; in August, the War of Aid to Guizhou ended and the two provinces were reunified; on October 10, The 10th anniversary of the outbreak of the Xinhai Revolution was held; in this year, the workers' movement flourished, the establishment of trade unions in the industry and the strike set off a climax; guangzhou began to implement compulsory education. In 1921, Guangzhou underwent great changes in all aspects, establishing the image of "New Guangzhou" at home and abroad.
It is reported that the exhibition is jointly organized by the Guangzhou Municipal National Archives, the Xinhai Revolution Memorial Hall, the Lingnan Financial Museum and the Memorial Hall of the Grand Marshal Sun Yat-sen's Palace until May 2022.
