On December 3rd, a scientific research and technology development plan project of Qinzhou City in the intravenous therapy clinic of our hospital, "Discussion on the Effect of PIC Specialty Nursing Outpatient Clinic established in prefecture-level and municipal hospitals", successfully passed the acceptance. Qinzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau organized relevant experts to conduct a meeting and acceptance of the project, and the project leader was Peng Xianmei, deputy director of the Nursing Department, deputy director of the nursing department. At the meeting, Peng Xianmei introduced and reported the background and research of the project in detail.
PICC catheterization is a central intravenous catheter of peripheral venipuncture, which is widely used in patients with tumor chemotherapy, intravenous nutrition therapy, and long-term intravenous infusion. Before the establishment of PICC specialty nursing clinics, there is no full-time catheter care, the patient's catheterization must be carried out in their respective wards, and regular catheter maintenance after discharge requires patients to return to the original inpatient department to wait for the ward nurse to evacuate before the maintenance of dressing, resulting in low patient maintenance catheter compliance and a high incidence of catheter-related complications. At the same time, due to the uneven technical level of catheters and the frequent placement of tubes in the disposal room or bedside of the ward, picc catheters lack standardized management.
In order to solve these problems, our hospital has established a PICC specialist nursing clinic to standardize and standardize the management of PICC catheterization. The construction and management of PICC specialist nursing clinics is conducive to ensuring the quality of catheterization and catheter maintenance, improving the success rate of disposable catheterization, reducing the occurrence of complications during the catheterization process and post-catheterization, and improving the compliance of patient catheterization and catheter maintenance, thereby prolonging the use time of catheters, alleviating patient pain, improving patient satisfaction, and meeting patients' diversified service needs. In addition, the establishment of professional PICC nursing clinics has led to the improvement of PICC technology in hospitals in the surrounding areas, improved the knowledge, skills and new concepts and methods of PIC maintenance of nursing personnel in grass-roots hospitals and township health centers through transmission, help and belting, and established an integrated PIC maintenance network between urban and rural areas, ensuring that patients with tubes can get professional catheter maintenance services nearby after discharge, and solving the problems of difficult and expensive medical treatment for patients.
Since the establishment of PICC nursing clinic for four years, PICC catheterization technology has been widely used in clinical departments, more than 4,000 cases of PICC catheterization have been completed, and PICC maintenance network has been established with 29 grass-roots hospitals and township health centers in three cities along the coastal area of Beibu Bay, with more than 1,300 training sessions. The construction and management of standardized, scientific and orderly PICC specialty nursing clinics has important guiding significance for the development of nursing to specialization, and also guides the direction for the development of specialized nursing clinics, which is worth promoting and learning. After listening to the report of the project leader, the expert group unanimously agreed to pass the acceptance.
