What exactly does Yang Mingxin mean by "to conscience"? After reading these two stories, I finally had an epiphany

author:Read the horizon under the flower steps

Speaking of Wang Yangming, it is like thunder! Speaking of Yang MingXinxue, I don't know how to feel it!

Over the years, I believe that many people have long been familiar with "to conscience" and "unity of knowledge and action". Some people also hang calligraphy and paintings at home (company). But when it comes to the meaning, it is estimated that 9 out of 10 people are not clear.

What exactly does Yang Mingxin mean by "to conscience"? After reading these two stories, I finally had an epiphany

Two years ago, I listened to Teacher Li Bo talk about "Wang Yangming in the Past Five Hundred Years", which is also this feeling.

I know that Mr. Yang Ming is very powerful, another saint after Confucius, and I also know that his core ideas of "unity of knowledge and action" and "to conscience" are very good and can solve many difficult problems. But I just don't know where its cattle are. Later, I found a lot of books and audios to interpret the study of the mind to learn, and I have always been confused.

Until recently, after reading these two stories, I suddenly understood in my heart!

One year, Wang Yangming went out to suppress bandits and caught a thief, and he wanted to impress this person and make him change from evil to righteousness. Tell the thief a word of conscience. Who knew that the thief was very dismissive, laughing and saying, "Don't talk about the big truth!" I have no conscience! ”

At that time, it was a hot day, and Wang Yangming asked: Are you hot or not? The thief said: Hot! Yang Ming said that heat can take off clothes. The thief quickly stripped off his upper clothes. Mr. Yang Ming said, "It's still too hot, so take off your pants too!" At this time, the thief hesitated: "This, it seems, is not very good." Mr. Yang Ming shouted at the thief: "This is your conscience!" ”

So the thief had an epiphany and changed from evil to righteousness! (It is also recorded that the person who civilized the thief was a disciple of Wang Yangming.) )

The protagonist of another story is Mr. Yang Ming's predecessor, Lu Jiuyuan, a master of psychology in the Song Dynasty.

One year, Yang Jian, another philosopher of the Song Dynasty, asked Lu Jiuyuan for advice: "How is the original heart?" Lu Jiuyuan told him that it was the "four ends" of Mencius: the heart of compassion, the end of benevolence; the heart of shame, the end of righteousness; the heart of resignation, the end of etiquette; the heart of right and wrong, the end of wisdom.

Yang Jian said that he had read this paragraph when he was a child, but he still did not know what the original heart was. Yang Jian was serving as Ren Fuyang's chief bookkeeper at the time, and between his conversations with Lu Jiuyuan, he also had to work on the case.

After he broke a lawsuit to sell fans, he continued to ask Lu Jiuyuan for advice. Lu Jiuyuan said, "Just like the fan selling case you just broke, the right person you know he is right, the wrong person you know he is wrong, this is the heart." Yang Jian said, "Is there only a few?" Lu Jiuyuan shouted, "Is there anything else?" ”

So Yang Jian had an epiphany and worshiped Lu Jiuyuan as his teacher.

Let's start with a digression. At the end of these two stories, Wang Yangming and Lu Jiuyuan, why should they shout loudly so that the other party can have an epiphany?

In fact, this stems from a tradition of Zen Buddhism. When a disciple is practicing Meditation and is about to have an epiphany but cannot have an epiphany, his master will help him kick the door. How to kick it? It's "awesome"! The master knocked the disciple's head with a stick, and with a loud cry, the disciple could understand it at once and immediately had an epiphany!

The two mind masters borrowed the Zen method of making people enlightened– drinking on the head.

What exactly does Yang Mingxin mean by "to conscience"? After reading these two stories, I finally had an epiphany

Back to the point. What is "conscience"? From these two stories, we know that conscience is the original mind, the cognition that existed in your heart from the beginning, the initial reaction to things, and the compassion, the heart of right and wrong, the heart of shame, and the heart of humility that comes with nature.

For example, the thief, although he was a thief, he also knew that it was humiliating (shameful) to take off his pants in public. Another example is Yang Jian, who knows who is right and who is wrong when he decides the case (the heart of right and wrong). For example, in life, when we see poor people with disabilities, we want to help him (compassion). These are consciences.

The so-called "to the conscience" is to do things according to the cognition of your nature, that is, to "unite knowledge and action." "Unity of knowledge and action" is the method and path of "to conscience", and it is also the ultimate goal of "to conscience".

So what does "to the conscience" help us? Helped so much! Because conscience comes with strong energy, those who can "reach conscience" will be invincible.

Mr. Yang Ming relied on the heart of conscience to cure bandits, quell rebellions, and create happiness and tranquility for the people. Japan also relied on the study of the heart to achieve the Meiji Restoration. Of course, this is the work of saints (politicians), too far away from the lives of us ordinary people.

How do we ordinary people apply conscience to change our lives, even our destinies? Quite simply, do things according to conscience, follow their instructions, and move forward without hesitation.

For example, conscience tells you that it is not good to stay up late, you go to bed early and get up early; for example, conscience tells you to be self-disciplined, to read more, to brush less vibrato, you will reduce the time of brushing vibrato, spend more time reading; for example, you quarrel with your other half of the Cold War, conscience tells you home and everything is happy, the Cold War will hurt feelings. You follow the instructions of your conscience and "meet and laugh and take revenge" with your partner.

In short, act according to your conscience, your life will have its own positive energy, whether it is life, work, or emotions, everything will become more and more smooth.

Seeing this, some people may say that concubines can't do it, and I also know that sleeping late is not good, and I always habitually sleep late. I also know to read more, but I just can't help but brush vibrato. Excuse me! This kind of cognition and behavior is not unified, that is, knowledge and action are not unified. If knowledge and action are not one, they are not really knowledge!

If you want to truly "unite knowledge and action", use "conscience" to change yourself and change your destiny, then do things according to the knowledge in your heart!

Finally, if you finish reading this article, still don't know what "conscience" means?

There may be two convenient reasons:

1. I did not have enough ability to express myself, and I did not express the meaning that I knew in my heart concisely and concisely.

2. You have not accumulated enough, and you have not yet reached the level of epiphany. I said that I had read the above two stories to understand what "to the conscience" meant, but it was not very accurate. Because I had seen the story of Yang Ming's influence of thieves before, I had not been able to understand it at that time. Later, after listening to a lot of psychological explanations, I had some vague understanding, and then looking at these two stories, it was like being drunk by someone and having an epiphany in an instant.

It's like eating, eating until the third bun is full, you can't say that the first two are useless.

Therefore, whether it is reading or conscience, if you want to have an epiphany, you need to accumulate it usually, and you also need to drink it!

What do you think?
