And look at the shadow of the sky

Zhang Kecai

In the late spring of March, I once again walked into the Luzhou Protectorate Vinegar Exhibition Hall, stood in front of Liu Zhenmei's portrait, stared at his thin face, glowing eyes, and the feelings in my heart were the same as the previous times, full of deep nostalgia. At this time, Many of Liu Zhenmei's past events for the revolution's birth and death will always flash in front of his eyes.

In 1916, Liu Zhenmei was born in a small merchant family in Xupengxi (now Huguo Town, Naxi District) in Xuyong County, and the vinegar produced by the Futai Chang Sauce Garden Factory (later renamed Simeitong Sauce Garden Factory) founded by his father Liu Zairu was deeply loved by the people in the southern Sichuan area. In order to make the sauce garden factory prosperous, he designated his eldest son Liu Zhenmei as his successor. One day in 1930, Liu Zairu told Liu Zhenmei not to go to school after graduating from primary school, to follow him to learn production management and commodity sales, and to take over his class in a few years. Liu Zhenmei listened to his father's words, snorted, and told his father, no, he will not take this class, he has his own ideals and pursuits, and his whole life will strive for the lofty ideals he yearns for. Liu Zairu thought of his carefully developed soy sauce industry, the product quality is good, the users are very satisfied, the development prospects are bright, and he is very angry to see that his son is unwilling to take over. He said loudly to Liu Zhenmei, you a 14-year-old doll knows what ideals, the family's industry has developed so well, you should stop studying, learn production management, product sales, and carry forward the sauce garden factory. Liu Zhenmei saw that his father did not change his mind, insisted that he abandon his studies and engage in business, and left his father in a huff, leaving the hometown where he was born and raised him, and went to Chengdu.

Liu Zhenmei studied in Chengdu Union County Middle School, Chengdu University Affiliated Experimental Middle School and other schools for several years, and with the help of relatives and friends, went to Beiping to study. Liu Zhenmei went to Beiping and went to Tsinghua University as an auditor. During his studies at Tsinghua University, his original intentions have not changed, and the ideals and pursuits in his heart have always been closely linked to the fate of the motherland. When he learned that Japanese imperialism had invaded and occupied the territory of northeast China, but the authorities adopted a policy of non-resistance and allowed the Japanese to trample on the beautiful rivers and mountains of the motherland, his patriotic passion gushed like a spring of water, and he threw himself into the Beiping students' "12.9" anti-Japanese salvation movement without hesitation, and used his full enthusiasm to join many patriotic young students in demanding that the authorities stop the civil war, turn their guns on the Japanese invaders, drive out the Tartar slaves, and protect China. However, young patriotic students, their demands for justice were bloodily suppressed by the reactionary authorities, and Liu Zhenmei and many young students were thrown into prison by the enemy and brutally physically tortured.

The cruelty of the reactionaries did not shake Liu Zhenmei's will to pursue the truth, and when his father invested a lot of silver dollars and asked for various connections to rescue him from prison, he still failed his father, insisted on not doing business with his father, and devoted his mind to the revolution.

In Chongqing, Liu Zhenmei, 24 years old, admired Guo Moruo very much, often visited and consulted Guo Moruo, and listened attentively to Guo Moruo's teachings. With the support of Guo Moruo, he founded Huamei Bookstore, which used advanced culture to attack backward, decadent, and reactionary ideas, the dark rule of the Kuomintang reactionaries, and the old system of brutally squeezing the blood and sweat of the people.

In Luzhou, Liu Zhenmei seemed to have changed her original intentions, took over her father's class as the boss, opened a soy sauce store in Luzhou City, and transported the aged vinegar and soy sauce produced by simeitong sauce garden factory into Luzhou for sale. However, for the sake of the revolution, Liu Zhenmei, under the cover of the Sauce Garden Store, actively carried out propaganda work, calling on the broad masses of citizens to wake up and fight against the decadent and dark society; for the sake of the revolution, he handed over all the income of the store to the organization and used it for the expenses of underground activities; for the sake of the revolution, he shouted with his heart and used his life to deal with the enemy.

Once, the sky was full of dark clouds, and in the dark sky, he returned to Luzhou by boat from Jiangjin with important information of the party organization, and just after getting off the ship and walking onto the dock, several enemies quickly surrounded him and intimidated him into handing over the documents he was carrying. In the face of the fierce and vicious enemy, Liu Zhenmei calmly and calmly maneuvered with the enemy, cleverly evaded the enemy's search, and kept the secrets of the party organization.

Liu Zhenmei, as the envious son of a rich family with rich family wealth, does not linger on the days of food and clothing, does not indulge in a rich life, in order to establish an equal system without exploitation and bullying, a society without hunger and everyone has food, he runs in the storms and waves, walking on the blade of a gun and bullet; he knows that he has been tracked and monitored by the enemy, and he will fall into the clutches of the reactionaries for the third time at any time, still without a little fear, he sings "The rest of his life is in prison, and he looks at the shadow of the sky and the sky". Wander calmly around the executioner's butcher's knife.

On a dark day in March 1947, the clutches of the Kuomintang reactionaries arrested Liu Zhenmei and imprisoned him, and in the hellish cell, the executioner whipped his body with an iron whip, and the bloody scars told the cruelty of the executioner; the crimson soldering iron made a noise against his skin, announcing that the executioner was dead. In the face of a pile of inhuman torture such as tiger stools, pepper water, and burial alive, Liu Zhenmei stood up and stood up the body torn apart by the jackal, and his two eyes stared angrily at the enemy, as if he was shouting angrily: You can tear up my flesh, but you can't tear up my rock-solid revolutionary ideals, you can't tear up my steely will to pursue the truth, and you can't tear up the beautiful prospects of New China that I have depicted in my heart.

Yes, lofty ideals and strong will were deeply rooted in Liu Zhenmei's heart, and a huge spiritual force had already stood firm in his heart. It was one day in 1946, chairman Mao Zedong personally came to Chongqing to negotiate with Chiang Kai-shek in order to build a new China, regardless of his personal safety. This news reached Liu Zhenmei's ear, and he instantly saw the future of China, and he was very excited, shouting loudly: "The sun has appeared, and the light is coming!" ”

The light is coming, the shadows that cover the sky will be driven away by the brilliant sun, how can a communist with a firm faith succumb to the darkness before dawn?

The light has come, the vast land of China is shining under the sun, and the cause of socialist construction is thriving and full of vitality. In a trance, I saw Liu Zhenmei smiling happily, he laughed for the people's beautiful life, and was proud of the rich, strong and beautiful motherland!
