The most beautiful grassland sky road in northern Beijing - China's Route 66

In August, I took a trip with my colleagues. In the afternoon, I left work and went straight to the direction of Chongli to see the long-famous grassland sky road.

Grassland Tianlu is actually just a county-level highway connecting Zhangbei County and Chongli County. The whole length is about 130 kilometers, and this grassland road is lined with beautiful scenery, passing through the vast grasslands, along the way there are rivers, mountains, grasslands, windmills, terraces, villages, rock walls and birch forests.

The road is winding, ravines, mountains, meadows, cattle and sheep scattered along the way, and the gray-black highway is like a necklace, passing through this land, like a grand landscape picture.

In order to better appreciate the view, we stayed in Chongli at night. Chongli is a small county town on the zhangjiakou side, a narrow county built along the valley, famous for the ski slopes of the Winter Olympics. Departing from here in the morning, you can reach the entrance of the Prairie Sky Road in about half an hour.

Although it is summer in August, it is relatively cool here. It belongs to the edge of the Xilin Gol Steppe, with an average altitude of 1400 meters and an average annual temperature of only 4 degrees Celsius. The first time I came here, I rose a little bit of common sense, and there is no air conditioning here in the summer.

Because of the popularity of this road, if it is a weekend, it will be very congested, fortunately we came over in the middle of the week, there are not many cars, and we stop and go according to our own plans.

In summer, Birch Bark Ridge is a turquoise landscape with wildflowers all over the mountain, dotted with sporadic flowers and grasses from time to time, and on the hillside in the distance, there are several horses grazing. Winters here, they say, are more spectacular and there's time to go again.

This time, the luck is not bad, the morning sun is sunny, along the sun all the way over, the morning dew is crystal clear. At noon, it slowly accumulated dark clouds, and it rained for a while, and the coats brought with them came in handy. In the afternoon, the rain stopped, the temperature was slightly higher, and the mountains were filled with clouds.

The soil here is particularly thin, the thin soil is full of gravel, there are not many crops that can be grown, most of them are buckwheat and potatoes, just in time for the potatoes to bloom, a large piece of large pieces, but also a very spectacular view.

There are some villages scattered along the way, some on the side of the road, some of which can be seen when the camera is close. The red tile roof and brick and mud walls look somewhat broken. Some have collapsed.

White wind power plants are also a sight to behold. The white appearance is very beautiful against the green background.

There are many wildflowers here, yellow, white, purple, pink, and blue, which combine to form a sea of flowers.

Here is a slip of the tongue, "The thirteen provinces under the heavens, but the cold is not birch bark ridge", this sentence is serious. Although the sun is good here, it is windy, although it is summer, it is still very cool, and you still need to wear a thick coat.

After the opening of the highway, tourists from all over the world gradually increased, and also brought some tourism income to the locals. Some families are selling roast lamb, some have started farms, some have started hillside motorcycles, and there are all roads along the road, but don't worry about being hungry. What I feel is not very acceptable is that the hillside motorcycle, the original fragile ecology, a circle down, dusty, there is no longer green on it, the damage to the ecology is somewhat large.
