Interpretation (149) How to correctly understand "evil has evil rewards, and good has good rewards"?

There is a Chinese saying that "evil is rewarded with evil, and good is rewarded with good, but it is not that there is no report, and time is not enough." Since ancient times, it has been circulating in society. Some people believe that they always discipline themselves strictly and accumulate virtue and do good; some people do not believe, always passively disappointed, and even think that "good people have no good rewards"; even more are willing to be associated with "evil".

So, let's first study "evil has evil retribution, good has good retribution, not no retribution, time is not enough", can it be correct?

"Evil is rewarded with evil, and good is rewarded with good, not by not being repaid, and time is not enough" is a classic saying of the Buddhist "theory of cause and effect."

Its theoretical basis is: "Planting melons to get melons, planting beans to get beans." That is to say, what seeds a person plants in the soil will germinate; what sprouts will grow what seedlings; what seedlings will grow; what seedlings will bloom, and what fruits will be borne. This is the inevitable law of the continuation of life in nature.

Therefore, the Buddhists believe that in the human world, if a person does good things, he will widely sow "good karma", and he will have a good reputation, a good popularity, and a good thing will naturally come to the door, or when you encounter difficulties, there will be many people to help you; in the same way, if a person does many evil deeds, he will inevitably sow "hatred" everywhere, and most of his "enemies" will be around him. The result of this person is bound to be "rampage" continuously, or when he encounters "difficulties", it will be "pushed by the wall and everyone".

But what about the facts? Is this the reality we see? Some people say that they have seen and experienced the retribution of evil and good, and are convinced, so that they not only believe in themselves, but also educate future generations to "do more good things with others"; but some people always think that neither the "wicked" nor the "good" have received the "retribution" they deserve, so they insist on not believing in the view that "evil has evil retribution, and good has good retribution".

But they forget that "evil has evil retribution, good has good retribution" followed by a sentence "not to report, time is not enough." Because everything in the world has a process of change, it is impossible to plant beans today and harvest them tomorrow. The formation of "great evil" and "great virtue" both has a process, so their retribution also needs a process; "small evil" and "small virtue" generally come quickly, and their retribution comes "fast" as well.

For example: if a person raises his hand and helps others, most people will say "thank you" in return, and even throw in the towel; for example, if a person "scolds others", it is estimated that he will soon receive "insults" and "counterattacks" from others.

Look again: if a person does a great good deed for thousands of generations, if future generations see the results, it is estimated that it will take several years to understand and understand, Mao Weiren is like this; in the same way, a person does a "great evil thing", many people will often be deceived for a while, and only after a few years will they find that "this person has sold us and is still helping others to count money", "The dwarf" is also, this is "the big traitor is loyal". The rewards of such "great virtue" and "great evil" will be very slow and late! But it is by no means "unreported"!

Speaking of this, some people still insist on not agreeing with the ancients' saying that "evil has evil rewards, good has good rewards, not unreportation, and time is not enough" statement. Their reason: If there is such a slow retribution, after a few decades, what is the point for the "beaten or tortured"?

Those who say this are, first, have a strong sense of justice, hate the "evil forces," and hope to "stop," "purge," and "strike down" immediately; second, the "prayer for virtue and retribution" is not enough in their life pattern, and they have not reached the height of "great goodness" and "great enlightenment," and most of them are pursuing immediate interests; third, they have an understanding that "evil has evil rewards, good has good rewards, not not unrequited, and time is not enough" There is a mechanical zombie understanding, and it seems that if it does not occur according to "their own ideas," it is false; fourth, most of these people have not experienced social experience. I don't know the natural truth that "in the world, there is no wonder", everything is "uneven", and everything cannot be "uniform".

Therefore, if a person has the above paranoid "ideological cognition", there will be "harsh demands" and "wavering" on "good thoughts and good deeds"; if the person does not promptly and resolutely put an end to the breeding of such "evil thoughts", he will slide into the ranks of being an "evil person", or only survive in an angry and depressed life.

Then, some people said: In life, if we do not "return" good and evil in a timely manner, is it not equivalent to allowing the "evil" people to continue to do evil in disguise? Doesn't that mean being ashamed of someone who "does good"?

Can't simply "say so"!

Because everything has its own situation, some get "rewards" in time; some do not "return" in time, although slow, but in the end there are "returns"; and some people's "disasters" may be the "retribution" they deserve.

"Evil has evil retribution, good has good retribution, not unreported, time is not enough", mostly refers to the macroscopic natural description of "retribution phenomenon". Only when everyone is bent on goodness will there be fewer and fewer evildoers; only when everyone is bent on goodness can we form a joint force to "punish" the wicked and encourage the good as soon as possible; only when everyone is bent on good can we shorten the time for punishing the "wicked." That is to say, in addition to the "natural retribution", the social and artificial "retribution" will also come as scheduled, but the speed of this retribution is also related to the legal system and environment of the society.

On the contrary, if many people in society doubt the correctness of "evil has evil rewards, good has good rewards, not not unreportation, time is not enough", and then slides into the ranks of "evil people"; then the team of evil people will become larger and larger, and the social atmosphere will become worse and worse!

Therefore, "evil has evil retribution, good has good retribution, not unreported, time is not enough", although it is a natural "retribution" law, it also requires the whole society and the broad masses of the people to understand, practice, maintain, and "punish", to start from the specific things in each person's own real life, in order to accelerate the formation of a good social atmosphere of "justice over evil"!
