Dr. Ulgen Unthere, with a degree in mechanical engineering, has been with the Volkswagen Group since 2004 and has been responsible for manufacturing planning/strategy for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Audi and the Group. In 2013, Jürgen Unser was appointed Vice President of Technology for R&D, Product Management and Production at FAW-Volkswagen and a member of the FAW-Volkswagen Board of Directors.

In the seven years since, FAW-Volkswagen has experienced a period of rapid growth. The company's transformation is closely linked to its unique product offensive and significant expansion of technology development. 10 new plants were commissioned during this period, including new Audi production sites in Foshan, Tianjin and Qingdao.
