There is no dynamic music, no "Tony teacher" who can speak the tao, and there is no routine such as selling cards. Tianmu News reporters recently visited a "low-key" barber shop at the east gate of Xianghu Homestead in Xiaoshan, Zhejiang Province, which is a favorite of the elderly in the community.

A barber shop of about 10 square meters, a mirror, a barber chair, two stools, a shampoo sink, that's all. The little shop is simply furnished and clean and tidy. The owner of the small shop is named Ding Qinghuo, who is deaf and mute. After retiring in 2018, Master Ding opened this convenient barber shop in his own community. Washing, cutting, blowing plus trimming 15 yuan, has not changed. It has also become the favorite "silent barber room" of the uncles and aunts in the community.

"I used to go to the outside of the community to get a haircut for a young man, and I didn't like it, Master Ding opened up here, I have been getting haircuts here, others are very good, and the craftsmanship is also good." A passing aunt praised Ding Qinghuo with reporters.

On the walls of the barber room are simply a few large printed characters: silent hair room, text exchange. "Cut short points, flat heads, dye black..." In addition to some of the words on the printing paper that guests needed to cut their hair, they also left words such as "good attitude and good craftsmanship" and other praise sentences from guests.

Master Ding's working hours are full, from 7:00 am to 11:00 noon, 13:00 pm to 17:00 pm, and 18:00 pm to 21:00 pm. 11 hours a day in the store. He told reporters that he lived in the community, and in addition to going home to eat, he was in the store. Old people come at any time, and they can give them a haircut.

Every afternoon, Master Ding's 90-year-old mother would come from home to the barbershop to see her son. Ding Qinghuo's mother told reporters that she had four children, and Master Ding was the third oldest. Master Ding's deafness is not innate. When I was a child, I did not see the doctor in time because of fever, which led to deafness and then aphasia.

Later, Master Ding learned sign language, junior high school knowledge, and haircut techniques at the school for the deaf and dumb. In 1981, he worked as a workshop specialist in the factory. In 1995, he opened a barber shop in the factory to make a living. In 2018, Master Ding retired, and the family discussed running a small barber room for Master Ding at the east gate of the community, first, it is also convenient for the old people in the community, and second, Master Ding's younger son is still in school, which is also a subsidy point for the family.

Ding Qinghuo said that as long as he is in good health and can still move, this convenient barber room will continue to be open.

As long as the uncle and aunt who came to cut their hair were more than a gesture, Master Ding could understand their needs. A chen uncle who came to get a haircut told reporters that his hair has always been groomed by Master Ding, and at first he needed to write and communicate, and later as long as a gesture or a look, Master Ding understood.

After cutting his head, Uncle Chen gave a thumbs up to Master Ding, and the silent praise was a tacit way of communication between them, and it also became their heart-warming daily life.
