Beijing News (reporter Wu Caiqian) On December 6, a stranded baleen whale was found on longmu bay beach in Foluo Town, Ledong Li Autonomous County, Hainan Province, and rescuers rushed to the scene to investigate. On December 7, the staff of the local Blue Ribbon Marine Conservation Association told the Beijing News that the stranded female baleen whale had died and was salvaged ashore on the evening of the 6th, and the cause of death was still under investigation.

Online videos show that not far from LongmuWan Beach, the waves lapping at whales 6-8 meters long, with red marks on their abdomen, gathered nearly 100 people on the shore to watch.

"This is a female baleen whale that was dead for a day or two when it was found." Pu Bingmei, a staff member of the Sanya Blue Ribbon Marine Conservation Association, said that at about 9 a.m. on December 6, residents near LongmuWan Beach in Ledong Li Autonomous County found the dead whale and called the police. Subsequently, the local police station, rescue team, Blue Ribbon Marine Conservation Association, The Institute of Deep-sea Science and Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other departments sent personnel to the scene, and nearly 20 people surveyed and salvaged stranded baleen whales.

At about 10 p.m. on 6 December, the dead baleen whale was salvaged ashore. Pu Bingmei said that at present, it can only be determined that this is a female baleen whale, there is no obvious physical injury, and the specific species and cause of death are still under investigation. Next, the research team will study the living habits of the species, veterinarians will analyze the causes of its death, and the skin and bones of baleen whales will be made into two pairs of specimens for science popularization and education.

"When the public finds large mammals stranded, they should immediately call the police and stay away from such animals." In view of the stranding of large mammals, Pu Bingmei suggested that you should call the police or contact the local marine management department at the first time, or you can call 12345 or the Blue Ribbon Marine Conservation Association. In addition, non-professionals should stay away from stranded animals, because large mammals may eat more organisms, and these things may have some chemical reaction in the animal body, which will cause harm to the human body.
