AIDS, also known as acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, is a disease caused by infection with the human immunodeficiency virus.
In the eyes of some people, AIDS is unclean self-love and infected. Indeed, the probability of sexual transmission of AIDS is extremely high. Sexual transmission is the main route of TRANSMISSION of AIDS, and data released by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention shows that more than 95% of newly reported HIV infections in 2020 are due to sexually transmitted infections.
The reason why AIDS can be sexually transmitted is because HIV is mainly present in the blood, semen, lotion and other body fluids of AIDS patients. When you have sex with an AIDS patient or someone living with HIV, and no safety measures are taken, HIV invades the body through tiny skin breakages, causing infection.
However, sexual transmission is not the only way of infection of AIDS, the main ways are blood transmission and mother-to-child transmission, which is also the answer to everyone's questions.
Blood transmission can be transmitted through blood transfusions, sharing syringes, organ transplantation, etc., and if the instruments are not sterilized in place during invasive cosmetic procedures such as tattoos and ear piercings, the blood of AIDS patients may also be infected.
Mother-to-child transmission, i.e. infection of the baby during pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding.
In daily life, some people are afraid of AIDS patients, and they dare not even get along with hugs, meals, and handshakes, for fear of being infected. In fact, the risk of HIV infection caused by daily contact is very small. After HIV leaves the human body, the resistance to the external environment is weak, and it is almost impossible to survive, so it will not be transmitted through air, diet and other channels, do not be misled.
Judging from the number of people living with HIV, the data of gay men, young students and the elderly are extremely prominent.
In 2020, there were 1.045 million people living with AIDS and people living with HIV/AIDS in China. Among them, the rate of new HIV infection with gay men is 5.6 per 100 person-years. Due to the low awareness of HIV preparedness, it is estimated that about 8 per cent of gay men are currently infected with HIV.
In addition, the number of young students aged 15-17 who are infected with AIDS is on the rise. A report in the Chinese Journal of Epidemiology pointed out that from 2010 to 2019, there were more than 23,000 cases of AIDS among young students aged 15-24 in China. Among young students infected, it is still predominantly male, and the proportion of male transmission is more than 80%.
For young students, due to the lack of sex education, many people do not have common sense to prevent AIDS, let alone risk awareness. Coupled with the development of the Internet and the rise of social media, it has changed the way young students communicate and expand their circle of friends, and under the inducement of bad information, young students who lack self-control cannot help but seek stimulation and have high-risk sexual behavior, thereby increasing the risk of HIV infection.
The situation of aids infection among the elderly is also not optimistic. In 2010, the rate of new HIV infections among men aged 60 and over was only 7.41 per cent, and by 2020 it had risen to 18.21 per cent.
Although the elderly are older, but the physiological needs still exist, and due to social, family and other environmental factors, most of the elderly can not successfully solve the physiological needs, while the psychology is too lonely, lonely, under the catalysis of dual factors, the elderly will also solve physiological problems through different ways, but due to the lack of sexual safety knowledge, the awareness of preventing AIDS is not strong, so it is easy to be recruited.
Therefore, if we want to prevent and control AIDS, we also need to pay attention to the sex education of young students and the physiological needs of the elderly to solve the problem.
Clinically, some AIDS patients suspect that they have skin diseases when they are diagnosed. In fact, some of the symptoms of AIDS in the early days are indeed similar to skin diseases and are easily confused.
After AIDS infection, it can be divided into three stages, namely the acute phase, the asymptomatic phase and the AIDS phase. Different stages of infection cause different symptoms.
1, acute phase
The acute phase usually occurs within 2-4 weeks after infection with AIDS, and there will be symptoms such as rash, fever, myalgia, diarrhea, nausea, night sweats, sore throat, and fatigue.
Among them, the red rash that appears on the trunk is easily mistaken for a skin disease. However, unlike skin diseases, the rash caused by AIDS is relatively scattered and does not appear obvious itching. Skin conditions such as eczema usually have a large localized red spot with significant itching.
In addition, the above symptoms usually last for 1-2 weeks before they resolve on their own, are more likely to be ignored, and should be vigilant.
2. Asymptomatic period
After the acute phase, the patient enters the asymptomatic phase, which usually lasts for 6-8 years. During this period, although obvious symptoms of discomfort do not occur, the virus will continue to replicate in the body, causing damage to the immune system continuously, so it may also cause problems such as lymphadenopathy.
3. AIDS period
After the asymptomatic period, it is the terminal stage of AIDS infection, at which time the infected person has become a real AIDS patient. In the AIDS phase, not only will there be various symptoms in the acute phase, such as frequent fatigue, lymphadenopathy in the neck and other parts, persistent low-grade fever, unexplained purple spots on the body, weight loss for a short period of time, abnormal bruises or bleeding, etc., but also cause various opportunistic infections. If the infection is not controlled in time, within 6-24 months, the patient will die.
Therefore, when symptoms of suspected HIV infection appear, it is necessary to go to a regular hospital for testing in time. Currently, HIV testing methods are diverse, including blood tests, oral mucosal exudate tests, and urine tests.
When high-risk sexual activity is accidentally committed and it is suspected of being infected with HIV, is there any remedy that can reduce the infection with HIV? The answer is "yes"!
After a high-risk behavior of AIDS, if you take blocking drugs within 72 hours, you can save your life! Moreover, the faster you take the drug, the better the blocking effect.
Blocking drugs, as the name suggests, are drugs used to block the spread of HIV. Blockers can inhibit the replication of HIV in the body, avoid more cells from being infected, and reduce the risk of AIDS.
If high-risk behavior does occur, you should immediately go to a regular hospital or the local CDC for help and take blocking drugs under the guidance of a professional.
It should be noted that the blocking drug is not enough to take once, but to take it continuously for 28 days, during which the drug cannot be stopped. If you forget to take your medication, you should make up it immediately within half of the interval between taking the medications. If it exceeds half of the time interval between taking the drug, there is no need to make up, and the next time you take the drug, you can take it according to the normal dose.
Finally, it is emphasized that AIDS is currently incurable and can only be controlled as a chronic disease to delay the progress of the disease. Therefore, although AIDS has a "regret drug", health does not have a regret medicine, and prevention is more important than treatment.
Especially for young students and the elderly in the high incidence of AIDS, it is necessary to raise awareness of AIDS prevention and stay away from the risk of AIDS infection.
