Ray Kennedy was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in November 1986 and has been suffering from the disease for 35 years.

Ray Kennedy was a key player in Liverpool in the 1970s, starting his career as a striker and gradually switching to midfield after coming to Liverpool.

Kennedy moved to Liverpool from Arsenal in July 1974 and played for Liverpool in seven and a half years for the team in 393 appearances, scoring 72 goals. Helped the team win five English top flight titles, three Champions League titles, one Europa League, one English League Cup and one European Super Cup.

After leaving Liverpool, he also played for Swansea and Hartlepool United.
