This is Rosemary. Kennedy's story. She was born in 1918 and is a beautiful young lady who is the late President John F. Kennedy. Kennedy's sister.

However, as beautiful as she may be, the young Rosemary is emotionally unstable and will even do extreme things that hurt herself. It's a very confusing story in a kennedy family that demands perfection for sons and daughters, but I think it's worth reading and sharing.
Young Rosemary's mood swings can become very extreme. Some claimed she was mentally "retarded," but her diary showed she was smart enough to make clever observations of life.
Still, she wasn't as gifted academically as her siblings. She's not good either. Her parents have fairly strict ideas about how a young lady should behave herself... And Rosemary had her own ideas about it. She loves to smoke. She likes to drink. It was the life of every party she attended.
Unlike her more dignified sisters, Rosemary was not "ladylike." She enjoys flirting with men and is reportedly promiscuous.
Her father was afraid that his daughter would do something that would "bring shame to the family." Ruined their precious reputation. Her parents' biggest fear is that their wild children will come home out of wedlock. This was undoubtedly a major blow to the Kennedy family's "good reputation." So her father, Joseph Kennedy, made a plan. He had his daughter diagnosed with some kind of fake illness, "hysteria" or something. She sometimes had seizures, which helped reinforce his "case" against her.
As a result, he was able to declare her legally incapacitated. Like what happened to Britney Spears recently, but in a more extreme way and with far-reaching complications...
After being declared incompetent, Rosemary Kennedy underwent a lobotomy against her will. They gave her local sedatives, tied her to the table and began to slit her brain like a butcher... The doctor asked her questions as he cut open her brain, until her answers became incoherent.
The surgery left Rosemary Kennedy physically and mentally disabled for life. She eventually worked in an institution where she was cared for for for more than 60 years until her death at the age of 86.
