Jeremy Rayner recently gave an interview to Fashion Health magazine and revealed that he had negotiated with Marvel that if his work schedule did not allow him to have enough time with his daughter, he would let Marvel re-select the "Hawkeye" actor.
Reyner has been playing Clint Barton (aka Hawkeye) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since his debut in The Avengers in 2012. His indie series Hawkeye, starring Hayley Stanfield, will premiere at Disney+ this Wednesday.
Reina said his center of gravity changed when he and his ex-wife, Sonni Pacheco, welcomed their daughter, Ava, in 2013. After his Marvel debut, the schedule was so tight that he found himself flying around often just to spend hours with his daughter. This led him to staunchly oppose work interfering with his time with his daughter.
"It taught me how to have the guts to say, 'Everybody, get out of here.'" It was my time with my daughter... Well, find someone to replace me. I'm going to be here with my daughter. It's quite risky. Acting and everything else was thrown out of the blue until my daughter said, 'I want to go out and play with my friends, Dad, I don't want to be with you for so long.' ’”
