The Bboy (men's) and Bgirl (women's) events at the Breakdancing World Championships will be conducted on a 1-on-1 basis, with each country and region nominating 2 male and 2 female players who must be 16 years of age or older on or before 31 December 2021. The four players of the Chinese breakdancing team training and preparation are: Liu Qingyi and Rui Fenqi, the champions and runners-up of the breakdancing women's group of the 14th National Games, Shang Xiaoyu, the third runner-up of the breakdancing men's group of the 14th National Games, and Qi Xiangyu, the runner-up of the 2021 China Street Dance League Zhengzhou Breakdancing Men's Group. At present, the Chinese break dance team is training in the closed training of the Lishui Extreme Sports Hall in Nanjing.

Breakdancing is the latest addition to the Paris Olympic Games, and in order to connect with the Olympic Games, this year's 14th National Games has set up a breakdancing program for the first time. Liu Qingyi, a 16-year-old girl from Xinxiang, Henan Province, lived up to expectations and won the "first ever" breakdancing gold medal at the National Games in the women's final. In the view of Liu Chao, head coach of the Henan Break Dance Team, Liu Qingyi is an extremely talented player, although she has only practiced street dance for 5 years, she is a world-class level in terms of physical fitness, technical ability, or understanding and expression of music. As the future star of Chinese breakdancing, Liu Qingyi also hopes to show himself on the world stage.

Yin Guochen, president of the China Dance Sport Federation, said that the Chinese team to participate in the 2021 WDSF World Break Dance Championship is a new step in preparing for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, and it is also an important way for Chinese break dancing to lead to the Olympic Games, which can help China understand the development direction of world break dance, adjust the ideas and methods of preparation in a timely manner, and is a breakthrough attempt to explore social forces and social projects to prepare for the Olympic Games.
