In order to further standardize the basic skills of specialist nurses, build a space and platform for specialist nurses in the delivery room to improve their skills, and create a midwifery team with excellent skills, higher level and better service - empowering midwives, on the afternoon of November 9, the "First Midwife Episiotomy Suture" skill competition of the Obstetrics Department of Weinan Central Hospital kicked off.
The skills competition was headed by Gao Yamei, director of the Nursing Department, Wei Manli, director of obstetrics, and Wang Changyun, chief nurse of the specialist nurse. Perineal resection is one of the common procedures used during childbirth to ensure the safety of mothers and children, and it is also a basic skill that every midwife must master. There were a total of 10 participants, and the competition was divided into two parts: theoretical answers and on-site practical exercises, and the final comprehensive score of the individual was obtained by adding up the total score of 30% of the personal theory and 70% of the total score of the practical exercise.
The theoretical part adopts the on-site answering method, which is subject to the 2019 edition of the "Guidelines for Perineal Incision and Perineal Laceration Repair Technology and Suture Material Selection".
In the practical part, the lottery is held on the spot to determine the order of the competition, and according to the "perineum opening and suturing operation process and scoring standards", a case selection method is set up, and the episiotomy or restrictive episiotomy is implemented. The anesthesia method and incision are demonstrated by oral presentation, and the suture is completed on the beef tongue. Seeing the wise and thinking together, seeing the strong thinking and competing, and catching up with the learning, the whole venue was filled with a strong atmosphere of taking the advanced as an example, learning from the model, striving for the first class, and creating excellence.
