In the past five years, the construction of Jiading's high-speed highway network has shown a trend of rapid planning, rapid construction advancement, and rapid completion and commissioning.
"The opening of the S7 highway is undoubtedly a major benefit for enterprises like us located in the north of Jiading." As the "one vertical" in the "three horizontal and four vertical" of the Jiading High Expressway network, in July this year, the second phase of the 6.1-kilometer S7 Highway (Yueluo Highway - Baoqian Highway) was completed and opened to traffic, connecting the G1503 Shanghai Ring Expressway and S6 Huxiang Expressway, and opening up the fast passage from the northern area of Jiading to Nanxiang, Anting and other areas. Docking the first phase of the S7 Highway, which opened to traffic in October 2019, solves the problem of rapid passage along the S20 Outer Ring Road to Baoshan in the east and to Qingpu in the west. At present, the S7 highway has become an important north-south backbone high expressway in the northern part of Shanghai, filling the gap of the high expressway in the northeast of Jiading and connecting this area to Shanghai's high-speed transportation network.
In September 2016, with the completion and opening of the second phase of the northern section of Jiamin Elevated Road (G2 Beijing-Shanghai Expressway - S6 Shanghai-Shanghai Expressway) in the "one vertical and three horizontal" supporting roads of Hongqiao Comprehensive Transportation Hub, it takes only more than 20 minutes to drive from S5 Hujia Expressway to Hongqiao Hub, which greatly shortens the spatial distance between Jiading and this national transportation hub window.

In addition to building a new high-speed highway, Jiading is also continuously improving the traffic capacity of existing roads. The G15 Shenhai Expressway Jialiu section transformation project launched in 2020 will implement the "6-to-8 transformation" of 12.5 kilometers of road sections and 30 bridges, and the entire project has been completed by 40% at present, and it is planned to be completed by 2023, when the road transport capacity will be further improved.

In the past five years, Jiading has formed a backbone transportation network of "three horizontal and four vertical" high expressways composed of G1503 Ring Expressway, S6 Huxiang Expressway, G2 Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway and S7 Highway, S20 Outer Ring Road, S5 Hujia Expressway and G15 Shenhai Expressway, and the total mileage of high expressways in the whole region has reached 111 kilometers, and the "main artery" of Jiading's economic and social development has become stronger and stronger.

The road mentioned by Mr. Hong is the Chengbei Road (provincial boundary - Shuangzhu Highway), which was completed and opened to traffic in June last year. After the opening of this provincial boundary road that has blocked Jiatai and Taicang for many years, it has changed the situation that the original Jiading Chengbei Road to Taicang Yuelu Highway needs to bypass the Frost Bamboo Highway, LouLu Road and Zhenghe Middle Road, and the journey changes from curve to straight line, and the traffic time is shortened from nearly half an hour to about 5 minutes. The opening of Chengbei Road has played a key role in the strategic layout of Jiading to build a comprehensive node city in the Yangtze River Delta and accelerate economic and social exchanges between Jiading and Taizhou. "When it was first opened to traffic, the daily traffic flow of the road was about 4,000 times, and now it has exceeded 10,000 times, which fully proves the necessity of opening up this road." In the past five years, with the opening of one broken road after another, all kinds of "obstructions" have been eliminated one by one, and the road network of 1306 kilometers of urban ground transportation has gradually smoothed. In December 2016, the widening project of Huyi Highway (S6 Huxiang Expressway - Yecheng Road Section) was completed, and the two-way 6 lanes after the transformation greatly improved the road capacity; in November 2019, the Chenxiang Highway Tunnel (Fanglin Road - Huyi Highway) was completed and opened to traffic, breaking the east-west barrier of the S5 Hujia Expressway and connecting the Nanxiang East Area and the Huyi Highway; in July this year, the Lintao Road across the Wusong River Bridge was completed and opened to traffic, and the Lintao Road of the District Tongduan Road was completed and opened to traffic, and the Lintao Road of the District Tongdutou Road was completed and connected to Changning and Connected to Minhang Also under yumin south road opened to traffic in July, through the G1503 ring highway tunnel, a direct connection channel between The Old Town of Jiading and the core area of the new city was established.

To improve the urban road network, in addition to new projects, it is more important to improve the traffic capacity of existing roads, reduce normal congestion, and ensure traffic safety through refined management. Since the second half of 2019, the District Transportation Committee, together with the public security department, the Road Facility Safety and Design Technology Center of Tongji University and the subordinate streets and towns, has carried out a hard isolation transformation to prevent right-turn "dumplings" at 722 hidden road junctions in the district, and implemented the "secondary crossing" of non-motorized vehicles that guide left-turning. At the reconstructed intersections, the number of accidents caused by human injuries and above caused by "dumplings" decreased by 51.3% year-on-year.

In order to achieve a new round of development of Jiading New Town, fully promote the transformation and take-off of the new city, and highlight the soft power of the new city, functional departments need to continue to exert efforts in infrastructure and urban operation management. The new round of development of Jiading New City has determined the overall plan of "North Expansion and Western Union". The new urban spatial pattern of "one core, one hub, two axes and four areas" undoubtedly needs the overall support of the transportation network. Especially on the basis of the 2.2 square kilometer Anting hub linkage area, the district party committee and the district government also put forward the transportation hub planning concept of "one main, two auxiliary and three hubs", combined with the construction of the Jiamin line and its planning of extending north to Taicang, Jiangsu Province, to carry out a feasibility study on the Jiabei hub and the east hub, to further promote the north-south linkage of the economy and society of Jiading New Town and achieve balanced development.
In the next five years, or even for a longer period of time, Jiading will continue to make efforts in 5G autonomous driving, intelligent networking, coordinated development of vehicles and roads, and the construction of intelligent transportation infrastructure, so as to make the city full of "futuristic" with "unique" smart transportation.

By the end of 2022, Jiading's intelligent networked autonomous vehicles will strive to achieve the global opening of test roads. Baidu, AutoX, Xiaoma Zhixing and a number of other leading enterprises have achieved a total of about 1.11 million kilometers of test mileage, and the test time is about 62,000 hours. Jiading's intelligent connected vehicles are making great strides from testing to the goal of demonstration application and commercial operation.

One of the "one ring and three roads" demonstration model focused on the core area of Jiading New Town, the 371-meter-long Baiyin Road Smart Road Demonstration Section, has been completed. The digital signals of hardware equipment such as roadside information management integrated boxes, road information collection integrated poles, smart signal lights and zebra crossings are gradually being connected to the "smart traffic digital cockpit" of the district urban transportation center, and the "one-screen management" of multiple application scenarios such as smart intersections, vehicle-road collaboration, and health diagnosis will be realized in the future. By the end of this year, the 1.5-kilometer-long Baiyin Road smart transportation demonstration section will be completed and opened to traffic, and the integrated development of the "car, road, cloud, map" system and the intelligent management of urban transportation will enter reality from design.

At present, Jiading is focusing on smart roads, traffic information fusion and multi-scenario applications, compiling the "Jiading New Town Smart Transportation Special Plan (2021-2025)", and researching and formulating the "Jiading Standard" version 1.0 of the "Jiading Standard" for smart transportation - "Technical Guidelines for Smart Road Construction". In addition, the "Guidelines for the Fine Management of Urban Roads", which is being studied and formulated, puts forward higher requirements for the refinement, standardization and digital management of roads in the new city. In the future, Jiading will further accelerate the construction of the national intelligent transportation pilot demonstration zone, and continuously promote the formulation of influential "Jiading standards" and "Jiading plans".
"Next, a new batch of road planning and construction such as the Jiamin Liaison Line, the reconstruction of the Jiajin section of the G15 Shenhai Expressway, and the planning and construction of large-capacity public transportation such as the northern extension of the Jiamin Line of the municipal line will be landed one after another." It is foreseeable that the three-dimensional transportation network that will continue to mature in the future will surely help the pace of high-quality economic and social transformation and development of Jiading New Town to continue to move forward.
