The famous writer Shen Congwen's novel "Border City" should be familiar to all of us. But the background of the book's writing, presumably few people should know, Shen Congwen once implicitly admitted: "Border City" is the result of his being seduced and evaded by extramarital feelings in reality.
Shen Congwen was born in Fenghuang County, Hunan Province, and before he stepped into the writing industry, he was a person who could not even use punctuation marks, and his diploma was also a primary school. Later, on xu Zhimo's recommendation, he went to the Chinese public school presided over by Hu Shi as a teacher, and thus became acquainted with Zhang Zhaohe, a student who would later become his wife.
When Shen Congwen pursued Zhang Zhaohe, he spent a lot of energy, because Zhang Zhaohe had a good family, and he looked beautiful, and there were many suitors, in the eyes of Zhang Zhaohe's second sister, Shen Congwen had no advantages of his own, and among the many suitors of his sister, he could only be regarded as 'Toad Thirteen'.
Under the unremitting pursuit of Shen Congwen, on September 9, 1933, the two were married in Beiping Central Park, and Zhang Zhaohe also recalled the past of the two in his later years, saying, "When did I start to change my view of this 'countryman', I really can't remember it at all."
Although the married married life of the two also lived Qinse and Ming, after the ordinary days smoothed out the passion of love, the tedious and boring life made Shen Congwen derail after encountering the temptation of another woman.
Shen Congwen's object of derailment is the poet Gao Qingzi, the first time the two met, they left a good impression on each other, and later Gao Qingzi repeatedly intentionally or unintentionally threw out good feelings, shen Congwen, who should have flatly refused, betrayed his wife with the waves. This incident made Zhang Zhaohe heartbroken, and a great rift appeared in the relationship between the two.
Later, after the reconciliation and enlightenment of friends, Shen Congwen recovered his wife again, but this 'soul derailment' did not end, and later Shen Congwen and Gao Qingzi met again at the Southwest United University, Shen Congwen almost fell into it again, and finally with Gao Qingzi's initiative to withdraw, the relationship between the two was completely suspended.
Many people say that Zhang Zhaohe is the goddess of Shen Congwen, and many of Shen Congwen's literary creation inspirations also come from the marriage of the two, but Shen Congwen's two spiritual derailments are pains that can never be erased for his wife Zhang Zhaohe, who also loves him deeply.
Shen Congwen died in 1988, and before dying, he trembled and said to Zhang Zhaohe, "Third sister, I am sorry for you." (Zhang Zhaohe is the third oldest in the family, and Shen Congwen usually calls his wife as such.) After Zhang Zhaohe listened, his eyes were misty with tears on the spot. A lifetime of love and hatred is in this sentence.
