The 24-year-old singer, who has avoided social media for some time and is concentrating on making her next album, said that during the pandemic, she took what she saw and thought on the Antarctic continent during the 2019 Antarctic expedition, as well as retro film photo albums, and produced a travelogue called "Southbound" (the unofficial Chinese name, formerly known as "Going South"), which has been listed on the official website.
* The book is said to be a "pilot" for the next music album, with all proceeds going to academic organizations for environmental protection and meteorological research.

"The reason I'm emailing everyone is because I have exciting messages," Lorde quipped, then dismissing hopes that it was the news of her album, "not the news [for the new album]. Don't get too excited. ”

Lord went on to talk about the book and how great it meant to her.
“When I went to Antarctica, I hadn't yet starting writing again after finishing Melodrama. I realized after the trip that what my brain had been craving was a visit to an alternate realm. Albums live in their own realms in a way, and Antarctica really acted as this great white palette cleanser, a sort of celestial foyer I had to move through in order to start making the next thing.”
"When I went to Antarctica, I hadn't written anything after I had just finished my second album, Melodrama. After the trip, I realized that my brain had been eager to go to another field. The album is somehow living in its own realm, and Antarctica really plays a great role in emptying the palette, as if it were a door to the sky that I had to go through if I wanted to enter the next realm. ”
* Melodrama is Lorde's second studio album
She adds, “The book is sort of a perfect precursor to this album in an abstract way, and it's a cool little police of the Lorde cinematic universe for you to own if you'd like to.”

Every email from Lord is like this — like my heart, is your heart tormented by her repeatedly? It's autumn and it's cold. I am learning to make focacha bread and love every tender moment of this precious existence. There won't be a new album in the near future (don't suffer).
