For more than 40 years, generations of leaders of China and the United States have worked hard to cultivate friendly relations between the two peoples on this basis, and both China and the United States have benefited from it. As U.S. secretary of state, Pompeo seems to have neither understood nor cared about U.S. national interests. Everything he says about Sino-US relations makes people feel that what he has in his hands is just a bad card.

The Taiwan issue concerns China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, China's core interests, and the feelings of the Chinese people and the nation, and brooks no foreign interference or any irresponsible excuses. Pompeo has repeatedly made extremely wrong remarks on the Taiwan issue, and his denial that Taiwan is part of China has touched the bottom line of the Chinese people. Pompeo really needs to restrain his mouth, because the speed of his tongue will not help the DPP in Taiwan much, but the price paid will be paid by the people of Taiwan. Some US politicians have played "using Taiwan to control China" out of their own interests, but the DPP authorities in Taiwan mistakenly believe that their value has doubled and that they have the strength to "call cards." When facing the mainland, they swear to be "equal and dignified," but when they face the United States, they are low-voiced and condescending.
